Our Childcare Provision
NURSERY
All 3 and 4-year-olds in England are entitled to 570 hours of free early education or childcare a year. This is taken as 15 hours each week for 38 weeks of the year. St Jude's nursery operates from 9am - noon during term time.
Once your child turns 3 he/she will be eligible to a free nursery place to start the following term. Please see the table below.
Child’s birthday When you can claim
1 January to 31 March the beginning of term on or after 1 April
1 April to 31 August the beginning of term on or after 1 September
1 September to 31 December the beginning of term on or after 1 January
Example:Your child was born on 15 February 2013. They’ll become eligible for free early education and childcare from the start of term following 1 April 2016.
To avoid disappointment please apply for a nursery place in advance. To apply you must complete and return a nursery application form and provide evidence of your child's date of birth, in the form of a birth certificate, and your address (a recent bill, bank statement, official letter etc).
Our Nursery operates an Admission Criteria Process in the event of places being oversubscribed.

WRAP AROUND CARE
St Jude's offers a Before and After school club. The before school club operates from 7.45am and the after school club operates until 5pm. There are 16 places available in each session each day. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
The clubs currently incur a charge of £3 for the morning session and £4.50 for the afternoon session.
