About Us
St Michael’s prides itself in knowing and developing the whole child; not just academically, but also morally, creatively and spiritually. We want a child to leave St Michael’s not only with an excellent rounded education and a thirst for knowledge, but also having the confidence to believe in their own abilities and to be ready for the next stage in their education.
Our school was built in 1872 and is an important part of the local community. We became an academy in November 2012 and are a strategic member of the STEP (Syston & Thurmaston Educational Partnership) Teaching School. We are a forward thinking school and are always striving to improve ourselves, to prepare children for an ever changing landscape.
Our Childcare Provision
PlayFit Kids Clubs are unique, OfSTED registered, childcare settings located on school sites providing out of school hours childcare and playschemes with Sport and Dance included! All provide affordable, ‘Pay for what you use’ based childcare for working parents and carers. Open Monday to Friday (term-time only) after school until 5:45pm with space for 32 children.
