St Oswald's Church of England Aided Primary and Nursery School is a voluntary aided school school in Durham. According to the latest government data, it has approximately 137 pupils and allows entry for children aged 3-8.
About Us
St Oswald's School is a small Church of England Aided school situated in the heart of Durham city.
The school is currently making the transition towards becoming a full primary school and currently admits children up to Year 4. From September 2016 the school will also have a year 5 class as the children move through the school.
The current Pupil Admission Number for the school is 15 which was reduced from 30 in September 2014 when the school made the transition from an Infant & Nursery to a Primary School. To accommodate children in the school we have 4 classes which are predominantly mixed age and will ultimately span the whole primary range.
The school also has a 52 place Nursery and has 20 places for wrap around provision ( Sunshine Club).
The last OFSTED inspection was in July 2014 when the school continued to be graded as Outstanding.

Our Childcare Provision
The school's Nursery admits 52 children per session and is accessed in the following 15 hour slot patterns;
Monday - Friday am 8.45 - 11.45 am
Monday - Friday pm 12.00 - 3.00pm
Monday , Tuesday , Wednesday am
Wednesday pm, Thursday, Friday
Sunshine Club is a company limited by guarantee whose Directors include the Head teacher , Foundation Stage Coordinator and Deputy Head Teacher. Consequently the club is completely integrated into the nursery setting. The club was formed to provide wrap around care and operates between 8.00 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday for 50 week's of the year ( closed bank holidays and some school INSET days ). Sunshine Club can admit up to 20 places in each session but also provides breakfast , after school and holiday club.
