About Us
St Peter's School was founded in Kettering in 1946 as a co-educational independent preparatory day school.
Alan Timpson, son of William Timpson was one of the Founders of the school and the main building, Sunnylands, was built in 1893 to become the Timpson family home.
St Peter's School has over the years built up a reputation for excellence. It is a lively, friendly school, where children are encouraged to develop to the full their individual strengths and talents. The happy family atmosphere is reinforced by the fact that many of our current pupils are children, grandchildren, nephews or nieces of former pupils. This sense of community and continuity is a source of great pride.
The School and its nursery, Sunnylands Nursery, accept children from the term that they become 3 to age 11 when they are prepared to move on to the senior school of their parents choice, be that in the maintained sector, or to another Independent School.
Our Childcare Provision
St Peter's School educates girls and boys from Reception class to Year 6 at age 11, when they move on to a senior school of their parent's choice.
Sunnylands Nursery is set within the attractive and spacious walled gardens of St Peter’s School in Kettering. We offer a safe, stimulating and supportive environment where children are inspired to learn and play within a caring family atmosphere. Our large bright rooms, outdoor covered classroom and extended outdoor space provide the perfect setting for children to be happy and active learners. We accept children from the term in which they become three years old, and offer the Early Year's Grant subject to eligibility in the afternoon sessions.
