About Us

We are a non denominational school for children age 4 to 11, seven miles west of Winchester and five miles south of Andover. We have four classrooms, a large hall, a discovery room/library and a children’s kitchen, as well as extensive grounds that include gardens, a pond, a wild area, outdoor amphitheatre, polytunnel and a large playing field. Our playground has seated and planted areas, a play house, painted games and a play structure where children are able to take part in collaborative play with their peers, or simply sit quietly and enjoy reading a book. Recently, a Children’s Centre and newly refurbished Pre-School were added to the site along with a custom-built outdoor Early Years’ Area. We are in the process of merging with the pre-school so that we have children from 2-11 years old.
We are a happy, friendly school with a family atmosphere. We offer a wide variety of opportunities for our children, including clubs, links with the community, sporting and cultural links with other schools, and day and residential visits to places of interest. Our aim is to help our children meet future challenges, and successfully prepare them for secondary education and beyond.
We are at an exciting time in the development of Stockbridge Primary School. We have successfully raised the standard of teaching and learning to good with outstanding features which was recognised by OfSTED in September 2013. In September 2012, we appointed a new teaching team who now know each other well and work together to secure a bright future for our children. We all believe that children cannot know what they’re good at or what they’ll be interested in if we don’t give them opportunity to experience it for themselves. Through our curriculum, both academic and social/emotional, we aim to give the children at our school rich opportunities which may open doors for them in the future.
Our school development priorities this year focus on engaging learners in their learning to foster a greater motivation for the new and unlearnt. Developing curiosity and a sense of challenge for all will be key for our children as they enter a world which we cannot really prepare them for as we ourselves don’t know what it will be like for them 20 years in the future!

Our Childcare Provision

We offer a Breakfast Club before the School day starts from 7:45 to 8:45am. For £3 per child per day, your child will be supervised by qualified staff in play activities and have the opportunity to have a light breakfast. At 8:45am the children are escorted to the outside playground where they join the whole School community in preparation for the start of the School day.

At the end of the School day, from 3:15 to 6:00pm, children can attend The Clubhouse after school club. The club is owned and run by one of our parents accompanied by qualified staff. They offer a schedule of activities and supper for a fee of £9 per day. The Clubhouse operates during term time only and is centred in the library on the School site.
