About Us

Welbourn C of E Primary School - "Trying our best to be our best"
We are a very supportive school with a real 'family feel'. Ofsted recognised our 'outstanding' commitment to pastoral care. We care about our children and our families and strive to support and be fully involved in community life.
As a small school we can offer average class sizes of approximately 20 children with excellent ratios of staff to pupils. We are able to provide many opportunities for personalising learning which really caters to the needs of the children. We are a real family and as a family we always work together to continue to ensure we are ‘trying our best to be our best’.
We are keen to expand our children's experiences and we take every opportunity to forge links with other schools and communities. As part of this we offer an exciting and stimulating curriculum which is practical and based on first hand experiences. We are committed to learning through the arts and in recognition of this we have been awarded Artsmark Gold. This is the highest national award awarded by The Arts Council, England.
We strongly believe in a strong partnership between home and school and we welcome the support, guidance and knowledge from parents. This purposeful partnership is the most effective way of ensuring the best possible education for children. We aim high and set challenging standards for all who work in the school.

Our Childcare Provision

We provide a wide range of clubs and activities after school over the year. These range from sporting clubs such as football and dance, to creative clubs such as art club and other interests including technology club and community club. Our clubs are run by staff, parent volunteers and outside providers and are thoroughly enjoyed by all! Some of the clubs are free and others there is a small fee.

Breakfast Club
We are pleased that we are able to support many families by providing a Breakfast Club from Monday to Friday at our school. Breakfast Club runs from 7.45am until 8.45am and is available to everyone in school. The Club’s staff provide a wide and varied range of breakfast foods and activities over the hour and every child who attends enjoys the experience. Places for Breakfast Club can be booked in advance or children can turn up on the day.

Extra Timers’ Club
We are very pleased that we are linked with Wellingore Extra Timers’ Club. The club take children after school from the end of the school day until 6pm and provide them with a light tea during this time. They collect children from our school in a fully insured minibus and parents can then collect them from Wellingore at 6pm. For more information about Extra Timers, please contact them on 01522 810003.
