My name is Emily and I am 28 years old living in Cheltenham.
I have always been passionate about working with children and helping children. I have worked with children since I was sixteen and have been fortunate to experience working in several different settings which has expanded my skills and knowledge.
I am a caring, reliable and enthusiastic individual who has a love of all things creative, outdoors and animals. Prior to starting my educational background in childcare, I completed a BTEC Diploma in Art and Design which has come in handy when working with children.
My Experience
My background of working with children started when I was a teenager. I began to babysit for several families in my village, I then began to help families more regularly.
I would help with evening/weekend babysitting. I helped one family with two girls aged two and three on a weekly basis a few times a week to support them whilst they went to work.
I hold qualifications in CACHE Level 3 in Early Years in Education (Level 3 I received a distinction, and Level 2 I received a Pass).
Whilst completing my course I worked in nurseries to build on my knowledge, I worked mainly in the baby rooms supporting staff with the running of the nursery.
After successfully completing my level 3, I went onto study Childhood Studies (2.1) at university. Whilst at university, I took on different volunteering roles, I worked at a girl guide with Girlguiding, a Befriender at Barnardo’s.
To further my own knowledge around newborns I took ab online course which I passed successfully. This course is called NVQ Level 4 Postnatal Maternity Nurse
