Hi my name is Vanessa Carey, I live in South Belfast with my husband and 8 year old son.
I have a clean driving licence and own a car.
I consider myself to be a friendly, caring and patient person with excellent
communication and organisational skills. I'm also very hardworking, highly
motivated and reliable.
I have 14 years childcare experience, working with various ages, needs and
abilities. Some of settings I have worked at include schools, nurseries and
private homes. I also have extensive experience as a special needs nanny
caring for a child with cerebral palsy.
I believe all children are special and unique and deserve to be happy and cared
for to a high standard.
I love working with children and find it to be an interesting and rewarding
career.
I especially love teaching children new and fun ways to learn through arts and
crafts or messy play! It's a joy helping children build confidence and seeing
them grow.
Other fun activities I'm very good at implementing are imaginative play,
singing and dancing. I also enjoy being outdoors with the kids playing football and trips to the park.
My hobbies include, reading ,walking ,running and spending time with my family
My Experience
I started my career as a beauty therapist and worked in highly regarded spas and cruise ships around the world . I also ran my own beauty salon and managed it 4 years .
When I moved to England I decided to change my career and retrained as a Teaching Assistant.
At first I specialised in special needs children working as a TA in schools. I then went on to work in early years sector with in Nurseries. Then I worked for 2 years as a support worker looking after a child with cerbal palsy .
I also have experience as ad hoc nanny

Vanessa has been caring for our two young boys, transporting them from school and looking after them in our home for a few months. She is trustworthy and has easily won their trust and ours. Vanessa is friendly, flexible and easy going, yet able to provide discipline and structure. We have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone considering her services.

Vanessa looked after my daughter for 3 days while my regular childminder was away. My daughter isn't great with strangers and I was worried she would not settle but Vanessa was great, she kept her busy - took her to the park and playgroup, and put my mind at ease. I would definitely use her again.
