About Me
I am Montessori trained, I offer one to one and on line tutoring. I have many years of teaching experience from age 2 all the way to further Education. I have also been a childminder and I was Graded "OUTSTANDING” by Ofsted.
My name is Celine McGuire, I live in a large detached house which has a large secure rear garden. I live there with my husband and two teenage children
I provide a happy, friendly and caring service where children’s individual needs are met and where they develop at their own pace. Children’s educational and welfare needs are met through the provision of well planned individual lessons using a variety of methods and apparatus. Children are encouraged to take an active part in all lessons thus in developing their independence and self esteem.
I have experience of working with children & young people with mild mobility problems, ADHD; Autistic spectrum disorders; Downs syndrome; Speech & Language difficulties plus Visual impairment,
I have catered for a variety of food allergies and intolerances as well as vegetarian, cultural and religious preferences.
My Experience
I am Montessori trained and have been working as a teacher, lecturer & childcare professional since 1987 in a number of different roles e.g. nursery manager, deputy principal in prep school, KS1 class teacher (reception and year 1 and), private 1-1 tutor, training and development officer in a day nursery, NVQ assessor in childcare and playwork, teacher / lecturer in childhood studies & key skills in further education colleges, cover teacher in secondary schools and support worker in special schools as well as childminding.
Throughout my childcare career I have been responsible for Health and Safety issues, Food Hygiene and Healthy Schools/College schemes. My family background on my fathers side is in catering and so this is very close to my heart.
I have also got many years clerical experience including 7 years as a legal clerk in the largest firm of Solicitors in Dublin plus data protection & insurance.
My Qualifications
Montessori Diploma in Education
Diploma in Business Studies.
In addition to this I attend regular CPD short course training on such things as
First Aid, Child Protection, Risk Assessment, Food Hygiene, Speech Development, Communication, Inclusive Practice, Disability Awareness, and all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
My Availability
I have some availability for on line tutoring at the moment and when we are allowed to mix again I will be available for face to face tutoring after school and during the remainder of the day for home schooled children.
