My Summary

My Experience

Throughout my College course I obtained 800 hours of placement experience working within a Day-care, Nursery School Setting, Primary School Setting and Special Needs School all working with children between the ages of 0-8 years. This has therefore been furthered within my three years of placement experience at University where I have accumulated a further 600 hours of experience within various settings. Throughout my eight years of experience of working within early years settings I have adapted to many curriculum plans with being in diverse classroom settings. Through this I have learnt the importance of creating positive learning environments along with creative learning strategies to encourage student motivation. Stimulating creative imagination is an area in which I hold great emphasis upon. I understand the importance of planning age-appropriate lessons and through this providing positive reinforcement is essential in my role. Having worked in a variety of settings I have experience with special needs students, working within small groups, and working one-to-one with children. I ensure to uphold effective time management when carrying out tasks to ensure that I am able to achieve the goals in which I set myself.
Within my role in the various placement settings I worked as part of a team to develop children’s individual needs through various activities and tasks. These activities helped children to use their own skills through tasks which benefited their social, physical, intellectual, communication and emotional skills. As a practitioner it was important to me to build a positive and trusting rapport with the children and their parents in circumstances which allowed me to engage with them. I find it very rewarding to interact and help children learn through play experiences, both indoor and outdoor.
