My Experience

I have extensive experience as 1:1 support for children with additional needs such as Autism and ADHD and have a deep understanding of neurodiversity, children's mental health and the importance of equipping them with age-appropriate coping skills. I have worked closely alongside SENCO's in teaching roles and have created personalised timetables for children, adapting the curriculum around their needs and interests, as well as helping parents seek the right support for their child both in and out of the classroom.
I have experience helping primary school aged children with phonics, reading and comprehension, arithmetic, speech and communication. My priority is always child's self-esteem, and turning their innate curiosity into love for learning.
I've worked with babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers and am passionate about Montessori, Curiosity Approach, and other child-led forms of Early Years learning.
I love planning a variety of exciting activities from arts & crafts, sensory/messy play, baking, to forest school activities like den building and woodland nature walks. My husband is a conservationist and we have a keen interest in exploring the outdoors, going on bird walks or to spot mushrooms and wildflowers.
I have a first class degree in Art History and English Literature and I think it's so important for children to express themseleves through drawing, painting, story-telling, building, creating, messy and imaginative play or music and dance.
I believe that children thrive when they are within a small homely setting with lots of adult attention, which led me to registering as a childminder.

My Qualifications

• DBS checked
• Paediatric first aid trained
• Full, clean drivers license
• SEN and Neurodiversity experience, particularly with Autism, ADHD and global delay
• Extensive safeguarding experience
• Knowledge of the EYFS, KS1 and KS2 curriculum
• Previous training in positive behaviour management, Thrive Approach, Speech and Language and Lego Therapy
• Practical experience using Numicon for maths, Read Write Inc. for phonics, Colourful Semantics for writing and Clever Fingers for motor skills development
• First class degree in Art History and English Literature from The University of Kent
• Currently pursuing a Level 2 in Counselling Skills with Kent Adult Education in Maidstone

• Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
