About Me
I am a second-year university student studying English Language and Linguistics at UWE Bristol, with the idea of becoming a teacher. I am looking for small job opportunities that will allow me to gain work experience, as well as extra money. I am motivated and determined to learn and spend quality time with your children. I am responsible, patient, and organised. I love spending time with children, as I think I can learn so much from them.
My Experience
Back home in Mauritius:
I have been a private tutor to two homeschooled kids (aged 9 and 15) for 3 months, where I would plan lessons and activities in order to teach them sciences, French, English, and geography (everything in French).
I have been a scout leader to 18 little girls (aged 8 to 12) between September 2021 and July 2022. With my leading team, we had to entertain them with fun and educational activities and games (based on the jungle book), teach them skills that can be applied in our everyday life as well as to being able to camp in nature for 5 days. In July, we were in charge of these 18 girls for 5 days during our annual camping trip.
Here in Bristol: I have participated in a volunteering program called 'book explorers' twice, which is about going to a primary school once a week and reading a book with a group of pupils. The aim is to support their reading skills and encourage them to discuss what the book is about and the values in it.
I also have been babysitting a 2-3 year old little boy since October.
My Qualifications
I do not have any qualifications. Only experience.
My Availability
I am available for occasional babysitting jobs as i prefer not to commit due to changing schedules throughout the year as well as already planned travels over the holidays.
