My name is Olivia and I am a 21-year-old philosophy graduate. I am an easy-going person dedicated to the safeguarding and education of children.
Learning is a central factor in human growth and the development of ethics so it is important for me to understand myself and others through teaching. My vocation is to be proactive in creating a nurturing environment for children with a focus on encouraging innovation, curiosity, and creativity whenever and wherever possible. I enjoy spending time with children and promoting a positive attitude to learning through entertaining and educational activities.
My favourite thing to do is surround myself with nature by going on walks or being in the garden. Recently, I have been raising and releasing UK native butterflies in order to help increase the number of natural pollinators in the local area. I also make pottery, doodle, and craft for fun and as a way of practicing mindfulness.
My Experience
I have previously worked as a volunteer welfare officer for the Philosophy Society at the University of Southampton where I hosted a weekly 'welfare hour' on campus and supported students with academic and personal issues. I was responsible for responding to emergencies, discussing sensitive issues with students and staff, organising social events as a team, and maintaining confidentiality.
I have always babysat for neighbours and I also have work experience at Ashford Park Primary where I maintained a high level of communication with teachers, students, and staff. My main duties as a general care and welfare assistant teacher were safeguarding students, storytelling, and encouraging student engagement and creativity through entertaining and educational tasks.
Both of these experiences have given me confidence in my listening and communication skills in addition to informing my skills in risk assessment.

My Availability
I am currently available from 9:00 am- to 4:30 pm between Monday and Friday. However, starting in October I am available to work, afterschool, evenings and overnight on weekdays.
