About Me

Hello! My names Anna, I’m 23 years old and I’m currently studying for my master’s in occupational therapy at Cardiff University. I have a genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to their well-being. I would love to develop and gain experience in the childcare sector as I hope to work with children in the future.

I consider myself a motivated and driven individual who takes a confident mature approach and will provide a positive and enjoyable environment for children. I understand the importance of finding someone trustworthy and nurturing to care for your child and I strive to create a safe and engaging environment where kids can have fun and feel at ease.

I value the importance of fostering positive relationships with both parents and children, and I am committed to delivering exceptional care. From interactive playtime to homework help, I am dedicated to providing attentive and caring childcare tailored to each child's unique needs. My experience in various children’s holiday camps and retail jobs has helped improve my interpersonal skills and time management.

My approach to babysitting is rooted in creating a safe, enjoyable, and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

My Experience

I have always loved working with children and understand the importance of providing children with a safe and secure environment whilst also ensuring they have fun. I have worked in holiday camps for children (Get Active sports) and have babysat before.

2021 - present
Get active sports play worker
During holiday camps, I played a pivotal role in facilitating a wide range of engaging and age-appropriate sports activities for children aged 4 to 12. My responsibilities included organising and leading group games, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, and ensuring the safety and well-being of each child under my supervision. I would help develop a timetable for the day which includes both creative and physical activities to ensure all children's preferences are catered for, as the children having a positive experience is vital.

2021
Cardiff Commitment Programme – Educational reports
- Completed a three-month placement working with students and career partners to support youth engagement and progression.
- Worked in partnership with schools and a range of public, private and third sectors to help connect young people to the vast range of opportunities available in the world of work to ensure they made informed choices about their chosen career path.
- I attended focus groups with children and reported back the information recorded in an easy and manageable way so people could understand the issues facing children when choosing a career.

2019
Think Pacific – Teaching young children
- Completed a two-month volunteering project on the remote island of Kadavu in Fiji
- I was responsible for organising lessons for a class of around 20 students aged 6-8 in both Maths and English.
- I learned how to deal with challenging children and those who found social situations difficult.
- Incorporated games into the learning objectives and the most rewarding thing was seeing how the hard work that we put into lessons made such a difference to the children’s pleasure in learning and lives outside of school.

2018- present - Schuh - Sales assistant
- Worked full time during 2018 to fund my travels during my gap year and have returned since to work part-time throughout university.
- Allowed me to understand the responsibility of having a full-time job and improved my confidence and social skills through having to build a rapport with my colleagues and customers.
- Made customer-led decisions and always tried to find the best product to suit the customer’s needs.
