My Experience
In my experience as a nanny and au pair, I have cared for children with a wide range of ages and needs. From my time as a nanny, I have worked with children from babies (under 1) to Year 8. I have also worked with children with special needs, such as a child with autism, a child with Cerebral Palsy, and a child with learning difficulties. In addition, I have experience with twin infants.
During my time as an au pair, I was in charge of the daily care of the children, including meal preparation, helping with homework, taking the children to activities, and hygiene (e.g. nappy changing). I also have experience with cooking for large groups of children and preparing healthy and nutritious meals.
I have also had experience as a special needs playworker, where I worked with children with a range of needs, including cognitive, communication and physical disabilities. This helped me develop a wide range of skills, including understanding different communication and sensory needs.
I am also certified in paediatric first aid and have a certified DBS check, so that I am fully qualified to handle any emergency situation.
