Hey there! My name is Amaris I'm 19 years old and I've been babysitting for 4 years:) I have experience with kids from 6 months old to 12 years old, I also have experience with autistic kids (ages 3-7) and can help out with home schooling! I'm fluent in English and Spanish and can teach either language as well.
My schedule is very flexible and I can always re-arrange it according to the parent's needs (I volunteer part-time but it's a very flexible job)
I am of course always keen to spend time with the family to bond and build a trusting relationship with the children!

I can start anytime December (2023) but I move out of Edinburgh at the end of July (2024)
My Experience
Hiya! My name's Amaris, I'm on a very long gap year (This is my second "gap year") taking a break from university where I was studying English Linguistics and Literature so of course I'm a massive reader and thoroughly enjoy discussing literature and philosophy, I'm very passionate about languages (My first language being Spanish) and I have been (unsuccessfully) trying to learn French, Italian and German for the past couple of years so any families that speak any other languages (apart from English) would be an incredibly fun mixture of cultures and great for language learning!, I adore all things music and am always keen to talk about it, I've also been trying to learn the guitar for the past 4 months and I only know 2 chords thus far and the first 10 seconds of The Beatles's Blackbird which is maybe not an accomplishment worth mentioning haha. I come from a big family and grew up surrounded by kids of all ages, I have 4 years of babysitting experience (from 6 months old to 12 years old) and I've been babysitting for the cousins, uncles, siblings in my family from a very young age as well, I also have experience in looking after autistic kids, my own brother for example who is now 5 years old, where I've had the pleasure of raising him and being a part of his development, taking him to speech therapy, physical therapy, and engaging in a different type of communication and creative play as a way of engaging with him was and still is a very fun and rewarding experience.
My Qualifications
I'm currently in Edinburgh and I have been traveling all over Europe and the UK for the past year! Whilst I love discovering all the different kinds of people and cultures that are on this side of the world, the hectic and ever-changing lifestyle of a backpacker can get a bit exhausting after a while and I have been missing the warmth and stability that a family can offer!! As I'm already in the UK I'm available for an interview in person before-hand which I think is a huge plus because I think compatibility and fitting in with the family matters as much as having experience!
