My Experience

I worked between 10 to 20 hours per week for one year, approximately two years ago, caring for a family friend's 5-year-old child. My primary responsibilities included ensuring he completed his homework, taking him for naps, ensuring he ate well during lunch, and maintaining his cleanliness. Additionally, I provided full-time care within the family during the summer months. However, my true responsibility extended beyond these tasks; it was to establish a trusting and friendly relationship with the children. I aimed to create a safe and comfortable environment for them in the absence of their parents, encouraging them to confide in me without hesitation. For children under the age of 4, I made special efforts to alleviate any shyness they may have felt and to ensure they never felt alone or away from home in their parents' absence

I always prioritize building a friendship with children, consciously avoiding projecting my adult persona. Instead, I aim to communicate in a manner that is simple, understandable, and relatable to them, ensuring they feel safe and valued, even in moments of wrongdoing. I prioritize kindness and warmth in my interactions, employing a gentle and tactful approach tailored to each child's unique personality and needs.

When assisting with homework, I recognize the potential frustration it can bring for children. To alleviate this, I inject humor and creativity into the tasks, turning them into engaging challenges that they can tackle with enthusiasm. My goal is to foster a sense of camaraderie and collaboration, ensuring they never feel isolated or pressured to complete their work alone.

In addition to English, I am fluent in Arabic and French, which I gladly incorporate into my interactions with children. Whether through sharing French songs or engaging in English-French games, I strive to make language learning a fun and enriching experience for them
