About Me
After spending the last few years caring for an ailing mother and raising my 4-year-old niece, I have recently moved to Edinburgh and looking to once again find a great family to help with any and all of their childcare or household needs. I live off Howe Street so I am hoping to find a local position.
I am reliable, trustworthy, flexible, organized, and truly like engaging with/caring for children so please don't hesitate to reach out if you are at all interested or want to know anything else about me.
Please know that I am currently trying to figure out how to get a DBS Check since I new to Edinburgh and childcare in Scotland. I hope to be able to update this profile with a DBS Check soon once I can understand how to apply and wait the allotted time for the check to be completed. However, please note that I have no criminal record and can provide references/an old clear DBS check from England if that makes you more comfortable.
My Experience
Over 12 years of experience in various childcare roles including nannying, babysitting, tutoring, and teaching from newborns to teenagers.
I was a Kindergarten teacher for a year and have tutored for Americorps and other organizations. I was even selected to be a Teaching Assistant during college due to my love of teaching others.
Additionally, I have been a second parent to my brother, raising him during my teenage years, and to my niece from her birth until I moved recently so have both professional and personal experience caring for children and all the laundry, cooking, cleaning, and everything else that comes along with it!
My Qualifications
I graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from a US university. I have personal and professional experience caring for children, in many settings, and in running a house.
