The Ofsted Early Years Inspection Handbook

The Early Years Inspection handbook has been updated by Ofsted and will be used by inspectors from September 2019. You can the latest handbook here.

Ofsted have changed the format of inspection from September 2019 – the focus will be on quality of education, children’s personal development and behaviour and attitudes to their learning and provider’s leadership and management.

The curriculum will be ‘at the heart of’ inspection and Ofsted are working with the Department for Education to ensure paperwork does not take precedence over quality early years practice.

Childcare.co.uk aims to support all practitioners through the changes and have produced a series of information guides and supporting webinars.

We also have a free Q&A on the new early years inspection framework.
