About Me
I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder, I maintained my Good rating at my Inspection in October 2023. My husband, Ian, works with me as my assistant. We have four grown up children of our own. As of 14th March, our eldest daughter Mrs Helena Vis will be joining us as an additional assistant. She is Level 3 qualified, DBS checked, and holds a Paediatric First Aid certification.
We offer a caring, home from home environment with lots of toys and equipment and fun.
Outings include parks, walks round Virginia Water and surrounding areas, giving plenty of scope to play and explore nature.
We look upon the children in our care as our extended family, and that feeling is mutual.
The parents of children that we do and have looked after will gladly provide references for your approval.
My Experience
I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since October 2008 and we have been parents since July 1997.
We enjoy watching the children grow and develop whilst in our care and encourage that development with outings and activities.
My Qualifications
I completed my Level 3 Diploma in the Children and Young People's Workforce in March 2016, and we have achieved the first stage in a Diploma in Home based Childcare, and both hold certificates in Early Years First Aid, Food Hygiene and Safeguarding Children. We update our training every three years or when relevant.
My Availability
We currently work from 7.00am until 6.30pm ( but can be more flexible if required).
We offer full/part time care for children aged 0-14. We cover school drop offs and pickups from Holy Trinity in Sunningdale, and have Charters students who walk independently.
We have spaces available from September 2025.
Happy to provide interim care while you’re waiting for a nursery place.

Maria and the family have been part of our family since my eldest son was 19 months (he is now 5). When we had our second baby (now 22 months) we did not hesitate for a second about wanting him to go spend his early years with Maria.
Maria is a wonderful person with so much patients, knowledge and kindness when it comes to being a part of a child’s upbringing. Alfie (our eldest) spent his early years learning so much - the same amount he would have done at nursery. The upside is that it was done in a family home surrounded by so many amazing grownups that also wanted to contribute. Still at 5 years old Alfie is always excited to spend his days there during the school holidays when we are at work. He calls her Mimi (along with the other children and my youngest) and dances around the house singing “I’m going to Mimi’s today”.
Noah (our youngest) has settled in so quickly and has never made a fuss about going in. He waves and says bye bye every morning. This proves how much he enjoys it there. He has also learnt so much while being there and his social skills have grown. His speech and knowledge of objects has also grown and he does surprise us with new words that we know he has learnt that day.
It’s safe to say that my boys feel safe, cared for and happy while at Maria’s. I could not recommend her enough to look after your little ones - we all know how scary it is leaving them for the first time but with Maria, you will feel comfortable and reassured that your little ones are in the best hands.

Maria has provided wraparound care for our twin boys for the past 5 years and we would be utterly lost without her. Not only has she and her family offered a warm, home from home environment for my boys, but she’s also been there for me as a parent, through the ups and downs of life! She’s caring, warm, flexible, and is always on the end of the phone if I need to change schedules or if I need a little reassurance that my two are ok following a drop off. Thankyou for all that you do for us as a family xx

Maria and her family supported our child for close to 2 years and we couldn't be happier with the level of care she received.
Maria's communication was always superb and her flexibility saved our bacon on more then one occasion!
Her home is well equipped and clean and her ability to get all the children sitting down for their meals at the same time always impressed us.
Pick ups and drop offs were always a breeze as my child would happily skip off through the door without looking back.
My child would always speak fondly of Maria and family and formed strong bonds with the other children attending.
Experienced and affordable. What a combo.

Maria and her older daughter Helena have been caring for my son Ragnar, and we couldn’t be more grateful. From the beginning, my husband and I have felt like their home was a second home for our son. Maria doesn’t just look after the kids—she often goes above and beyond, showing true care and responsibility.
There have been times when both of us were tied up at work, and their family stepped in without hesitation to help. They’re incredibly flexible, and loving. My son has never cried or resisted going to Maria’s, which says a lot about how comfortable and happy he is there. It truly feels like being part of an extended family.
We highly recommend Maria!

We have used Maria now for 6 years. We started off with full time care for my eldest then my second child and still use Maria for Wraparound childcare and some holiday care.
She has always been very flexible with our childcare needs. Both me and my husband have jobs where our work hours aren’t always the same everyday. She is more than happy to feed them at tea if we are unexpectedly late back from work and also provides breakfast on the occasional day we drop off early in the morning. During the holidays she provides lunch when we use her.
The children love to go to her and often don’t want to come home. During the school holidays she often takes them to the lovely play park which is just around the corner from the house. She has plenty of outdoor toys in the back garden.
We also occasionally use Maria on an evening as a baby sitter which the kids really love. It’s nice to be able to use someone we already know and trust and that the kids know.
Maria gives us plenty of notice when she is going to take her holidays to give us plenty of time to get alternative care if we require it.
Overall we have been very happy over the years and will continue to use her hopefully for many more years to come.

My daughter has been with Maria for 18 months now and I couldn't be any happier. My daughter loves Maria (MiMi) and the whole family and looks forward to going each week. Im putting my daughter into Nursery from September but also keeping Maria on for 1 to 2 days per week as-well. When i was looking for a childminder i was looking for someone right into my daughter being at school and when i met Maria i just knew she was the right person for my daughter and i. I also love the fact my daughter has such a variety of age group of children to interact with which i feel has certainly contributed to her development.

Maria and Ian have been amazing childminders to our son Xander since he was around 9 months old (he is now 19.5 months).
Our son goes to them 4 days a week and absolutely loves his time there. It was such an easy transition for him to start spending his days there with no issues settling in at all. Communication is always fantastic, with super fast response times if you ever need to contact Maria during the day.
Marias whole family are such loving warm people and many of her daughters are also in childcare roles. An amazing family that we can't recommend enough!

My daughter has been with Maria after school since starting reception 2 years ago. She has a great time there with her friends. Maria and her family have always been super flexible and helpful both with day to day pick ups as well as if we need help at other times.
