About Me
My name is Natalie Macpherson or Nat Nat as my mindees like to call me these days! I live in Dorking, close to the main train station and walking distance to the town. I am married with three children all of which are in education from secondary school and above and I love being a mother to them. I have a well equipped playroom and garden with many resources that reach to all seven areas of learning via the Early Years Foundation Stage. We go out on various trips and adventures such as childminding/toddler groups, parks, soft play and woodland areas for Forest school. I plan activities according to interests or celebrations throughout the year. We do lots of arts and crafts, story time, ryhme time, we have fun cooking and explore the outside world of nature incorporating fun and innovative activities. Whilst your child will have the opportunity to social with others their own age during the week, I also run a Childminder Group called Tuesday Toddles once a week which has successfully ran for over 10 years.
My greatest professional achievements as an Ofsted Registered Childminder include achieving the Outstanding judgement for the second time in February 2020. More recently, I was inspected in January 2026 under the new Ofsted Toolkit Inspection Framework, introduced in November 2025. As one of the first settings to be inspected under this new approach, I was awarded three Strong Standards and three Expected Standards. Given the significant changes to the inspection and grading methodology, this was a very positive outcome and reflects the continued high quality provision and leadership within my setting.
My Experience
As well as being a mother of three, I've been a childminder for over 17 years. My roles before this included being a PA for 5 Board Directors, an Office Manager and a Packaging Manager for various well known retail companies. These roles developed my organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities - qualities that continue to benefit me in my childcare career today.
My Qualifications
I have attended and completed the CHiP course which enabled me to become an Ofsted Registered Childminder back in 2009. I have completed a full paediatric first aid course, and do so every 2-3 years. I attend countless Early Years and safeguarding training workshops with Surrey County Council, independent courses and conferences that have given me inspiration when planning activities within my EYFS curriculum. I am also Level One Makaton trained. I am experienced with Type One Diabetes and coeliac disease.
My Availability
My hours of work are from Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 5.30pm but are negotiable if an earlier drop off in the morning is required. There is a minimum contract agreement of 8 hours a day with two days a week. Whilst contracts would be term time only, I am able to provide adhoc care through the summer holidays and half term weeks if required, on reduced days of Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

My Fees
- Childminding from £9.00 per hour
My private hourly rate fee is £9.00 which includes snacks and most outings. Meals are charged at £2.50 each meal however parents are able to provide their own if they wish.
I can receive the Government Tax-Free Childcare Vouchers. I am able to claim the Government Funding for Early Years children (up to 30 hours) for 9m to 4 years. This can include FEET funding for for 2-3 years olds, if required.
