About Me
I am available for babysitting most evenings (and holiday childcare during school holidays) because I am a teacher by day. I am a qualified primary school teacher but now work in secondary school, with children aged 11-13. I have 2 almost grown-up sons so I have plenty of experience! I tesch French but also have some knowledge of Dutch and Spanish so can work with bilingual children. I have experience with children with autism.
During the long school summer holiday I offer a home tutor/ babysitter service whereby your children can still do a little maths and/or English with me when I am there, to prepare them for going up to the next class, but also ensuring there is lots of time for fun activities while you are at work. This would usually be in your home.
I am available most evenings and some weekends for babysitting. I can oversee children's homework tasks and support them in reading, phonics, spellings etc. I am comfortable around pets and can even feed them when you are out, if needed.
If you need an evening babysitter I would usually arrive when children are still up, then after talking to them to get to know them I would put children to bed at the usual time, following their usual routine with a bedtime story and text parents once they're asleep.
Happy to help out families who need emergency babysitting too.
I have lots of hobbies! Some of them are: running, paddle boarding, piano playing, art (painting), swimming, yoga, cooking.
My Experience
Experience of babysitting for the last 35 years.
Work in a school - also been primary school teacher and was a Teaching Assistant before that. Safeguarding and First Aid trained. Local references and hard copies of all qualifications available.
I am a Maths and English tutor (age 5-12) and have a few spaces after school.
I have experience in working in early years, having worked in a reception class and nursery environment.
Have enhanced DBS status.
Full driving licence and own car.
My Qualifications
Degree in Education with a focus on learning support.
4 A levels
Maths, English, languages and science GCSE/ O levels
IT literate.
