About Me
My name is Shadene, I started working with children in 2007. In this time I have gained my NVQ 2 and my diploma.
I have first aid training.
When working with children I enjoy getting involved with activities such as painting, gluing, writing, and I also like to be outdoors. I feel it is important for children to get regular fresh air even if it’s just a little walk round to the park. I like to watch children thrive and grow giving them the opportunity to take safe risks during play whether that be climbing or helping me chop up some fruits and vegetables for snack times using the correct child safety knives.
I have experience with children from roughly 6 months to 5 years and having a son of my own I know how important it is for parents to know that your little pride and joy will happy safe and secure whilst you are busy working.
Within my spare time I enjoy watching rugby with my partner and cooking with his two girls and my son now he is older. I enjoy socialising with friends and generally being out and about, although sometimes a snuggly family day watching films on cold rainy day is perfect too!

My Experience
I have had of experience working in different areas of childcare on being a deputy manager in a preschool, which I enjoyed doing but I stepped down as I didn’t feel I was with the children as much as I wanted to be as I was more office based... you can’t help a child thrive when you can’t spend time with them.
I have both professional experience with children and personal experience having a child of my own and two step daughters it has helped me understand more the importance of a parent ensuring they find the right person to take care of their child.
My Qualifications
I have over time gained both my level 2 and diploma in childcare.
I have has also done some training with ECAT (Every Child A Talker)
I have a first aid certificate
I have done safeguarding training
