Nanny in London: Hackney (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
Hello
My name is Vasileia Chatzaki and I am from Greece. I moved to London 13 years ago and I have worked in the childcare field-as a nanny, babysitter and nursery nurse for more than 20 years. I believe that I have been blessed with having studied something that I love, which is to interact with children, whom I find a source of life and joy. I am an enthusiastic, passionate, and reliable person with a natural ability to bond with and care for children. My priority is to create a safe environment for them, so that they have the space and all the stimuli to develop optimally through a range of activities, which may employ the arts, movement, writing etc, depending on their age and specific needs.
I can cook and prepare meals for the children, prepare babies’ bottles, give them a bath, assist children with their homework. With the parents’ consent, I am more than happy to take them for a walk and outdoor activities.
My Experience
After I graduated from University, I worked as a nanny of 3-month-old twin girls (sole charge) approximately for one month in Thessaloniki, Greece. The family then moved to Germany and our collaboration terminated, as a result. A few months later, I worked as a babysitter of a 4-year-old boy for an academic year. I picked him up from kindergarten, prepared his meals, and organised a range of age-appropriate activities. Half a year later, I moved back to my home town where I worked as a tutor at the Nursing Institute of Vocational Training (module: Early Childhood and Education) for one semester. Then I worked as a full-time nanny of a 8-month-old infant. I prepared his milk bottles, his meal, fruits, eggs, take him for walks, etc., while also helping him develop physically and mentally through various activities. Following that, I worked as a Nursery Nurse on a five-month contract. In this position, I was responsible for 20 kids 2,5-3,5 years old. My duties included organising their daily programme, overseeing and helping them with their food and toilet.
I moved to London 8 years ago and started working with a 7-month-old boy. My duties included taking him to playgroups, parks, playgrounds and other activities, as well as supporting him in developing his skills, through age-appropriate activities at home. Two years later, I started working with a 1 year old girl, in parallel. I was a share-nanny and, in that position, in addition to taking care of their food and sleep-related needs, my role also included engaging them in customised activities they could both benefit from, taking into account their age difference. A few months later, the boy started going to nursery, so I would then do his drop offs and pick ups.
When the boy’s family had to move to Bristol, in February 2017, I started looking after a 4months old boy. I helped him build his skills through developmental, age-appropriate, indoors and outdoors activities, and supported him through his weaning phase. A few months later, I assisted him with taking his first steps and, eventually, starting walking by himself.
In December 2017 the family moved to Australia. A month later, in January 2018, I start working in my current position in a nursery as a childcare practitioner, in a room with toddlers (24 to 36 months). My duties are to organise group as well as individual activities, to facilitate the children's all-round development. In accordance with the EYFS statements (Early Years Foundation Stage), I write daily reports with my observations in the areas of their learning and development areas.
