About Me
I'm a qualified and registered childminder living in the St Stephens area of St Albans, close to both the M1 and M25. I have an 11 year old daughter at secondary school, and an 8 year old son who goes to Prae Wood School.
After having my daughter in 2012 I decided that I wouldn't be able to return to my old office based job. I had always wanted to work with children, and loved every minute of watching my little girl grow and develop. After a lot of thought I decided to take the plunge and retrained as a childminder. I haven't looked back since-I absolutely love what I now do!!
I have been working as a registered childminder ever since. My overall aim is to provide the loving, fun care for other children that I want my children to receive.
I strongly believe that children develop and thrive in loving, secure environments where their carer takes the time to get to know them fully as an individual. I also believe that variety is important, and therefore take children out every day. We walk a lot, and I have both ZSL zoo and willows farm memberships. I also go on regular trips to the library, park and attend a number of play groups.
I was rated as "good" during my last ofsted inspection.

I am a qualified Human Resources professional, and worked for a number of companies as a Human Resources Advisor.
I retrained as a childminder and began minding in 2013.

Debbie has been absolutely amazing caring for our little boy! She has created such a warm, nurturing and loving setting. He absolutely loves going and runs in every morning without even looking back — which says everything! She is so kind, caring and attentive, always keeping us updated and giving us complete peace of mind knowing he is happy and well looked after.
He loves all the fun days out, from the farm and zoo to parks, playgroup and more. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Debbie. She is genuinely brilliant at what she does and always does it with a smile on her face. We couldn’t recommend her highly enough!

Debbie has looked after our daughter for the past year, and we feel so lucky to have found her. She is warm, kind and caring, and we couldn’t have wished for a better person to look after our little girl.
Choosing someone to care for your child is such a big decision, and having someone you trust makes all the difference. We are so grateful for the care and attention Debbie gives our daughter and everything she has done for our family over the past year.
We would wholeheartedly recommend Debbie to any parent looking for a wonderful childminder. Thank you, Debbie!

Debbie is everything you could wish for a childminder and more. Both my kids adore her and the ‘family’ she’s built for them with the other children. For the pre school years, she’s taken my kids on daily adventures from the park to the zoo, and created a real home away from home for them. She’s communicative, kind, caring, patient, incredibly reliable and I’m forever in awe of how she does it all with a smile! I’d highly recommend her

Debbie has cared for our 3 year old and now our 6 month old and we couldn't be happier about finding her. Debbie is always caring and attentive to the boys and very communicative with us as well. Our three year old tells us often how much he loves Debbie and we're so happy with the friends he has made and care he has received whilst with Debbie.

Probably the nicest lady you’ll ever meet! Our 3yr old had been going to Debbie’s since 2019 and she loves it there. All of the children are fab and they go out lots to Willows and Whipsnade + the park etc. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Debbie to anyone!
