About Me
My name is Sharon Smith and I have been a registered childminder, based in Saltcoats, for 7 years. I have 3 children of my own, a boy aged 21 and two girls, aged 19 and 16.
I aim to provide all children in my care with a clean, safe, comfortable stimulating environment where they can play, learn and develop. They will be encouraged to respect themselves, others and the environment around them at all times.
We will at times do activities which can be noisy or messy, however we will try to maintain cleanliness and tidiness but the happiness, fun and well-being of the child will always take precedence.
As a childminder I will try not to take over the role of parents. I will listen to parents and family as experts on their children. Respect will be shown for the family, traditions and cultures. The childcare I provide will go alongside with the values, practices and wishes of the parents as far as possible.
My Experience
I have gained most of my experience in caring for children through taking care of my own children and working in the school aftercare, which catered for ages 5-12. I also have experience of working with vulnerable and challenging young people through working in social work. I have been a registered childminder for 7 years. I also coach a girls football team at under 13’s level.

My normal working hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30am - 6:00pm. However, if need be I can be flexible with these hours.
