About Me
Hi I'm Gilda Maria Grazia, my Mamma was from Italy and brought us up the Italian way. I am
Bi-Lingual and love all things Italian. Based in Bishopbriggs, we are conveniently located on the main arterial route in & out of East Dunbartonshire / North Glasgow. We have a single level, secure play area / garden with a large play house filled with toys. There are several play parks within walking distance. I have a wide range of learning / play materials, and I aim to provide a safe, welcoming, stimulating fun environment for all the children in my care, and will regularly discuss the individual likes, needs and requirement of each child with parents, in order to provide a fully tailored individual care plan.
I have a partner of 3 years called John who is CRB checked and works for MOD. My daughter Cristiana 28 years is getting married in October and lives with her fiancee. My son Simon 25 years is still at home and works in Glasgow. Simon is CRB checked also. I'm very proud of both my children, both have fantastic careers.
We have a small, friendly Cavachon dog called Molly and a her puppy Dolce 5 months, who has been around children all her life. Cavachon do not cast fur, and are generally safe for those with allergies to be around.
Molly (age2) and her pup will be around the kids and when we take them for walks, Molly and Dolce have a large crate if it gets too much for them, there is also a gate to separate them from the kids if needed.
Before becoming a childminder I had my own Italian restaurant for 20 years and did Pinocchio parties which I dressed up and entertained kids. I think that's why when I divorced, I took on this role.
My Experience
10 years on I've looked after many children from all range and nationalities. I have plenty of references if needed.
Having raised my own family, I have many years experience of caring for children in my own home, and outwith.
At the moment I have 5 little cherubs and 6 after schools. I don't have any full-times at the moment, that's why 11 kids seems a lot. I have plenty of references if you require and opened to any new suggestions. I keep in touch with many of my former children.
Please be assured that I will continue to prioritize the welfare and safety of all children and families. Regular daily updates and photographs are provided to parents by WhatsApp or text.

Our two children were with Gilda, son for 2 years (since he was 12 months) and his younger sister for 6 months. Gilda is very affectionate with the children. She is very warm and caring and it's clear that the kids love her. We were never in any doubt that the children were happy and safe with Gilda. Our son didn't settle well with a previous childcare so it was such a relief that he was happy and loved going to Gilda's. As well as playing at home, they regularly attended playgroups and visited parks and the kids loved this. Gilda was always very flexible and we wouldn't hesitate to use her again.

We have been using Gilda now to look after our little ones 1 & 3 for about 6 months.
She has them in the day in a playgroup. It's a very bright modern room with lovely amounts of light coming in.
Much nicer than any of the playgroups we went to before we met her.
Gilda has also looked after the children in the evening coming to babysit at the house.
She even tidied the place up when she was here. It is a real reassurance knowing if they wake up in the night Gilda is familiar with them and will be able to settle them easily. She will easily put a 1 and 3 year old to bed - something we would never ask friends to even try!
Gilda's location is very handy because there are other childminders working on her street who are in touch with each other, so if one is off or whatever they can cover each other and arrange safe passage of children.
I had no hesitation to book her because of the good recommendations she had locally. It's possible to guess Gilda might have rubbed someone up the wrong way - she is a bit of a character. She's a passionate person who speaks her mind so she will probably not be everyone's cup of tea, but we like her.
Also my children have never been taken by her to an old people's home (?!) - but if wanted to she would be welcome to. I am sure this would be very good for the little ones and perk the oldies up no doubt.
She has lots of toys and is as flexible as she can be to fit our schedules always offering to cater for the children or stay later when babysitting etc. She went out of her way to arrange santa visits and presents for the kids at xmas and has all the certificates and things as well as the experience you might want too.

I employed Gilda in August 2017 for my two youngest children. Having never used a childminding service before I was very impressed. My personal circumstances are a little higgledy piggledy and Gilda is incredibly flexible and helpful, which I am extremely thankful for. Her house is set up well for children and there are plenty of games and toys to choose from. My kids adore her. She is very warm, caring and has a heart of gold. We'd be lost without her.

I met with and visited before placing my child. The lounge is filled with toys and there is a secure garden. Everything seemed fine and she was very chatty.
The reality was this childminder spending her time on Facebook, visiting an old people home almost daily and a dog although behind a gate, bites when it gets into the lounge or near the children.
Best avoid this childminder who is only interested in £ and not your child's welfare.

Gilda has looked after my little boy for over two years now, since he was 10 months old, 4 days per week. We feel very lucky to have found her. My son has always been happy to go to Gilda's (and sometimes reluctant to leave!) and I am confident that he is happy and safe in Gilda's care. I have found that Gilda provides a good balance of activities; my son attends playgroup each morning and has activities at home or at the park etc in the afternoon. Gilda has always been flexible to accomodate my son's routine. Gilda has a lovely nature and is really well suited to childminding and from very early on I felt my son took a shine to her. Gilda has always been very accommodating if we have needed to make changes due to work commitments etc. I have no hesitation in recommending Gilda, we would be lost without her!
