About Me
Welcome to Mama Bears Daycare!
Hello, I’m Chérie, the childminder behind Mama Bears Daycare in Coundon, Coventry.
Coundon girl, born and bred , I’ve been an Ofsted-registered childminder since 2010, with over 16 years of experience caring for babies and young children. I’m also a mum of two, so I understand just how important it is to find someone you truly trust and feel comfortable leaving your little one with.
Mama Bears is run from my family home and is a small, warm and nurturing home-from-home setting, where children feel safe, settled, happy and valued. I have always been graded Good in all areas by Ofsted, and I take great pride in providing personal, high-quality care for every child.
Small setting, big care
I care for no more than four children per day, allowing me to give each child lots of individual attention and really get to know their personality, routines, interests and needs.
I specialise in caring for babies and younger children, supporting them as they grow in confidence, independence and develop those all-important early skills.
Our days are filled with play, sensory and messy activities, stories, singing, creativity, outdoor play, nature exploration and everyday experiences — lots of fun, with plenty of learning happening naturally along the way!
I follow a child-led approach, encouraging children to explore their own interests and learn at their own pace. Natural resources, authentic materials and loose parts are used alongside age-appropriate activities to encourage curiosity, creativity, problem-solving and independence.
Most importantly, I want Mama Bears to feel like a home from home — somewhere children are happy to come, feel comfortable being themselves and are cared for as part of the Mama Bears family.
Keeping parents connected
I know how difficult it can be leaving your baby for the first time, which is why I place a big emphasis on communication with parents.
I use a childcare app so you can receive live updates throughout the day, including photos, activities, naps and little moments from your child’s day.
It’s lovely for parents to see what their little one has been getting up to while they’re at work, and hopefully gives that extra reassurance that they’re happy, settled and well cared for.

I offer funded and private places for children aged 9 months to 3 years, with term-time only contracts available.
I am happy to offer funded spaces, although I do not split funded hours with other childcare settings.
I currently do not offer school runs.

A little note about enquiries & availability
As Mama Bears is a small setting with limited spaces, I often have several families enquiring about the same availability.
If you make an enquiry and I get back to you, I’d really appreciate a reply, even if you’ve decided the space isn’t quite right for you
Please be aware that spaces cannot be held without confirmation, so if I don’t hear back from you, I will continue with the next family on my enquiry list.
Please don’t assume a space will still be available weeks or months later if you haven’t been in touch, as I may have offered it to another family.

- Childminding from £10.00 per hour
Funding offered term time only Deposit required to save a space - will be fully refunded in full first week of term or once funding code has been provided

We knew from the first time we met Chérie that she was the perfect person to look after our little one when I went back to work. Our daughter started with Chérie at just 9 months old and has now just turned 2.
Chérie is so caring, kind and patient, and it’s clear how much she genuinely loves and cares for the children. She does lots of lovely, fun and educational activities, and we’ve seen such a big difference in our daughter’s development since being with her.
We feel so lucky to have found Chérie and couldn’t ask for a better person to look after our daughter, it really feels like home from home. We honestly couldn’t recommend her enough. ❤️

I was very anxious about leaving my little one, but as soon as we met Cherie we knew she was perfect. Cherie is amazing ! so caring and loving. My daughter loves her time with Cherie and has lots of fun. We get regular updates and photos which is a lovely. Cherie made time to reassure me over the first few weeks when my daughter was settling in and even still now if she is having a little off day. We have been with Cherie now since April 2026 and I would say nothing but outstanding. I choose Cherie due to her exceptional reviews and I would 100 % recommend her services to other parents. 😊

I can’t recommend Cherie enough! She is such a kind, caring, and amazing childminder. Since my son started with her, he’s developed so much in confidence and learning, and he’s always so happy when I pick him up.
It’s so reassuring knowing my child is happy, safe, and so well cared for. I know he’s in the best hands with Cherie, and I’m so grateful for everything she does xx

I honestly couldn't ask for a better childminder for my little boy. 💛 Going back to work after maternity leave was such a heart wrenching time, and I was filled with worry about leaving him. From day one, you made that transition so much easier with your constant updates, photos, and reassurance.
Knowing he gets so much love, care and ‘snuggies’ while we're at work means the world. It's so clear how happy, safe, and settled he is with you, and that gives me complete peace of mind every single day.
Thank you for loving and caring for him like one of your own. We are so grateful for everything you do. We couldn't recommend you enough! ❤️

Cherie is an amazing childminder , I can’t recommend her enough. My daughter is only 1 yrs old and has only been with Cherie for just under 2 months and she absolutely adores her . The moment we arrive she can’t wait to get in to see her and have fun all day

My little boy started with Cherie just before his first birthday. I didn't feel ready to leave him and I was anxious/worried about doing so. Cherie went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and my little boy's face says it all when I drop him off and pick him up. He absolutely loves being in the setting and I know that he is happy and cared for. Even the way that Cherie speaks about him to me, I know that she has such a genuine bond with him and I wouldn't want him to go anywhere else. I love the photo updates I receive throughout the day, it really perks me up when I am missing him, and I feel so lucky that we found such a loving and caring person to be there for my boy when I can't be.

When looking to leave your baby with what is effectively a stranger its not an easy decision. Cherie didn't stay a stranger for long and we couldn't ask for anymore with how much she has cared for and looked after our little boy. Nothing is too much trouble, Cherie is so accommodating with any needs or requests. Our little boy loves going so much, and we love receiving all the daily updates with his adventures. I'm so happy we found Cherie for our childcare. Thank you ❤️❤️

Cherie is fantastic, I can’t find words to describe how much we appreciate her help. Our son was so happy every time he stayed with Cherie. Well entertained and looked after. I was so afraid of leaving our son in anyone’s care, but in this case he was in the best hands possible.
We had to say our goodbyes with a heavy heart and only because we moved abroad. We miss you terribly!

Cherie is an outstanding childminder the best decision I ever made was sending my little boy to cherie, the love and care she gives him is like home from home. As a single parent the help, support and advice/reassurance she gives to me is second to none as a new mother, she’s just so lovely and easy going. My little boy is so happy and always in a lovely mood every time I pick him up, her settings are safe, fantastic and immaculately spotless for the kids. The thoughtful crafts and updates daily Cherie gives on the app is just lovely, capturing their day and sharing it is priceless for the parents. My little boy has come on leaps and bounds in his development and his little personality, he’s definitely more confident since he’s been with Cherie and his eating habits are so much better. I would never use anyone else, I highly recommend Cherie, we adore you! Thank you for being so kind, lovely and bubbly every morning when you greet us, I know every drop off he’s going to have the best day with you, You are truly the best childminder in Coventry! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
