About Me
I am an ofsted registered childminder who lives in Gosforth and I attained my 4th Outstanding grade at my last inspection in January 2020. I have 2 level 3 qualifications relating to childcare and through training I have become an accredited childminder. I have been childminding for 23 years.
I offer a warm home from home environment where children are made to feel welcome, respected and valued. I have a large area that is used for childminding which is light, airy, clean and comfortable. I have a enclosed, child friendly garden, with outdoor toys and resources, which offers opportunities for outdoor play...at the opening of a door.
I have a wide variety of toys, puzzles, games, books and craft resources for children of all ages. I provide activities such as: Story reading, singing, arts and crafts, water/sand play and lots more, to support children in all areas of their development. I take children on regular outings to playgroups to give opportunities to socialise and make friends. We also visit places such as the: park, Laing art gallery, Great North museum, Discovery museum and Pets corner (Jesmond Dene). We are very lucky to have a lovely bridle path just 2 minutes walk from my house, and this offers opportunities for children to: feed the ducks, have safe country walks, see wildlife and have fresh air and exercise.
I work in partnership with parents, and strive to ensure that my childcare service continues to provide a high standard of care for the children and meets the individual needs of families.
My Experience
I have two daughters of my own aged 23 and 28 years old. I have been childminding for 23 years. I have cared for two babies under 1 year old. I have cared for a child from the child being 6 weeks old. I have cared for childminded children from the ages of 6 weeks - 13 years. I have cared for siblings and before and after school children.
My Qualifications
Cache Level 3 Diploma in Home-based childcare
Cache level 3 NVQ in Children's care, learning and development
Paediatric First aid certificate - renewed every 3 years
Safeguarding children certificate - renewed every 3 yrears
HABC Level 2 award in food safety
I am an accredited childminder which means I can offer 15 hours (30 from Sept 2017) per week Free Nursery Entitlement (FNE) funding for 3-4 year olds.
My Availability
I am available from 7.30am - 5.30pm from Monday-Thursday
7.30am - 5pm on Fridays
