About Me
My name is Joy Thomas I am 62 years old and live in Selsdon, South Croydon in a Semi-detached 3 bedroom house with my husband. Seven years ago, during our 2 week break in June /July we had our playroom extended and completely decorated, so it is colourful and very well equipped. We have pin boards around the room which accommodate the children's work, from the various activities we do daily. We have a warm atmosphere, following the EYFS but overall having fun by taking part in various activities. We often visit the local parks, Kelsey Park, Farms, stay and Play, and the Library. We also have a child friendly well equipped garden e.g.:- ride on toys ,sand pit, swings, trampoline, scooters, prams, little tikes house and cars.
My Experience
I left School at the age of 16 and went to work at a Day Nursery in Streatham run by the Lambeth Council as a child care assistant for a year, I then completed my 2 year training still based at the Nursery, working as a Nursery nurse for a further 4 years then moved to Bromley Council at another Day Nursery for a further 3 years. During that time I had our Son and moved up to Selsdon to the house we are in now. I then registered with Croydon to be a childminder 38 years ago, my Son being 18months old. During these years I have looked after children of various ages from 3 months to 11 years. I cared for one family`s 5 children starting with their first born through to their fifth child over 17 years, sadly they finally had to move because their fathers job moved to another county, but happy to say we still keep in touch.
My Qualifications
N.N.E.B.
First Aid trained every 3 years full course and yearly refreshers. I have 2 certificates one for a short Counselling course and last year Safeguarding level 1. As well as a variety of other up to date courses and webinars.
My Availability
Immediate start. 1 vacancy for full time ages 6 months to 4years. 2 part time vacancies 6 months to 4 years.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
I charge £6.00 per hour, which includes freshly cooked meals and healthy snacks.
