About Me

Hi, I am an OFSTED registered child minder. I have been a qualified nanny for 16 years and a child minder for 13 years.
I live with my husband and our 14 year old daughter and our 1 year old Cavapoo. He is adorable ( I'm biased!) And has been a wonderful addition to our family and our child minding family. He loves the children and they love him!
I am a bright, happy person. I am caring,trustworthy and reliable. I enjoy my work and get great satisfaction seeing a child develop and strive to reach their full potential.

As a childminder I offer a warm, safe, clean, home from home environment. I provide fun activities in line with the EYFS such as arts and craft, sensory play and child led play. I believe children learn the most through play, so I provide many different activities and opportunities for effective learning.
I attend local toddler groups, local parks, the library and meet with other childminders for group activities. I do not use my car for minding as I enjoy walking and making use of everything that is available locally.
We take part in sponsored events such as Den Day and the Big Toddle. I am located close to Riverside walk and visit hear often to see the cows or go on a bug hunt. We also do sessions at Walk on the wildside in town for very different animal experiences! My daughter has two rabbit which are kept outside in the garden.


I consider myself an organised person, confident in my abilities and enjoy new challenges.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, walking our dog and gardening.

I enjoy reading, visiting new places and seeing my friends.

My Experience

In my 16 years nannying, I have worked with a wide age range of children, from babies to teenagers. I was made redundant in 2013 from a job I loved with four children aged 5,9, 16 and 17. I had been there just under 3 years. I took my own daughter with me when she was 9 months. Since being made redundant I have become OFSTED REGISTERED so that I can stay at home with my daughter and work with children. My previous work includes 3 years experience with two children with Autisum and Epilepsy. This involved working fo two families, part time. My role was to work along side a specialist Pre school to reinforce their teaching programme. I worked with speech and languge therapists and occupational therapist. I did several courses during this time including a Makaton workshop which I have also used in my current job to encourage language.
During my time child minding I have looked after babies from 5 month to teenagers. I have experience with children with additional needs such as various degrees of Asd and Autism and also physical disabilities. Every child matters to me and deserves to thrive.

My Qualifications

I qualified in 1998 with an NNEB Diploma in Nursery Nursing (level 3).

I have a current Pediatric First aid certificate with the British Red Cross and continue to update these every three years.

I have received training for Makaton and First aid for Epilepsy.

My Availability

I am a registered child-minder and offer child care from the hours of 8 am until 5 pm Monday to Thursday at my home. I am in the catchment area for The Mary Bassett Lower school.
