About Me
Hi there, My name is Vivian but everyone calls me Viv or Vivy. I have been married to my husband mark for 25 years. I've recently moved from Romford to Daws Heath, I have been a childminder in the Romford area for 24 years. I have 5 children, a son of 33 who lives up north, a daughter of 32 who is local to me, a daughter of 31 who also lives up north, I have a 25 year old son who also lives locally, and another daughter of 24 who lives at home. i also have 4 grandsons. I have 4 Boxer dogs who just love everyone that enters my home. My back garden The dogs have a separate part of the garden which is walled off and they are trained to do all their potty business up there, that leaves the garden totally safe for everyone.
A few things that I like are:
Girlie films, dancing, all types of music, documentary channels on tv, shopping in toy stores, forest walks with the children and dogs, marmite on brown toast, any kind of fruit, the snow, the smell of freshly cut grass, a big cup of green tea and bourbon biscuits in bed on Sunday mornings, yum!!
My Experience
I have child minded within the Barking and Dagenham borough since 2001. I have worked as emergency cover within Rush Green Pre-School and I have also worked voluntary within Rush Green Infants School as a classroom assistant. I have been a working mum and also a full time mum so i completely understand the needs and flexibility that parents will need.
My Qualifications
I keep up to date with any courses that Ofsted requires me to do, to keep my setting running smooth and safe. I am pediatric first aid trained, have a certificate in fire safety, food hygiene, birth to three matters, developing EYFS profiles, safeguarding children and child protection, plus many more than can be seen at your request. I am generally most months topping up on courses to keep me up to date with the governments and ofsted requirements but it never normally interferes with my availability hours. I usually attend the courses of an evening or weekends. all adults that live in my home are CRB checked. I am also a member of PACEY (used to be NCMA) and have full insurance.
My Availability
I am available every weekday, Monday through to Friday. i am available from 06.00am till 18.00pm. (I do not work weekends) I only cover Rush Green Pre school, nursery and primary school as I am already committed to drop offs and pick ups there, I can not cover other schools.
My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
my fees will totally depend on the amount of hours or days that i am required. it will depend on weather you are a shift worker or taking up the odd days or a full time placement, but Generally my fee starts from £6 per hour.

My eldest daughter has been in Vivy’s care until she started Reception. I haven’t met other person with Vivy’s kindness and such emotionally involved in raising someone else’s kids. Vivy has been more than a childminder for my daughter, she’s been part of the family. She’s always been caring and supportive. My daughter (in year 1 now) she is still asking about Vivy and saying that she misses her so that means she had an impact on her. We both cried when we had to say goodbye to each other. I cannot recommend her enough.

My son was with Viv from 18months old until he recently started school. I had no worries at all the second time round when it came to finding childcare for my daughter and started her from 10months! Viv and her family have been such an important asset to our lives. From emergency childcare, to responding to late night texts regarding any concerns, Viv is so reliable. She keeps in contact, is so friendly and is always there to offer advice if needed. My kids absolutely adore her family and pets too. Everyone is always so welcoming. Her setting is more than a setting, it really is a home from home (but way more fun!)
For anyone considering using Viv, from the moment you meet her you'll be met by her beaming smile, loving family, and the most chilled out boxer dogs you'll ever meet in your life! You won't regret it!

I used Viv as my childminder for the whole time my boys were in primary school She has also looked after my other younger children as and when on the odd occasion too.
She is the loveliest lady you could hope to meet and find to care for your children. She is so friendly and personable and strives to do her best every single day. My children were engaged and really enjoyed their time with Viv.
She really looked after them just as I would and the boys felt it was their second home. She was never late or ill and is super reliable.
She helped with homework and reading and always kept me informed about their progress and day. Summer holidays were packed with lots of fun activities so I never felt the boys were missing out by me having to work which was really important to alleviate some 'mummy guil'
The best childminder I have ever used - the older children grew up with Viv and its only because we moved away from the area that she didn't have my other children full time.
Highly recommended.
