Anna Dee
Nanny in Tewkesbury (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I am a mum to two boys, aged 14 and 16, and a wife to a loving husband. We are a busy, family-oriented household with a friendly 9-year-old pug and two cats, so I’m very comfortable around animals and happy to be in homes with pets.
As a family, we love spending time outdoors—whether that’s walking the dog, cycling, or simply enjoying nature. I grew up on a small farm surrounded by animals, including sheep and horses, which has given me a strong appreciation for outdoor life and hands-on experiences.
I am a caring, patient, and passionate childcare provider who believes in child-led learning and nurturing each child’s individual needs. I aim to create a calm, supportive environment where children feel safe, understood, and free to express themselves. My own parenting approach has always been led by love, responsiveness, and respect for my children’s emotions.
I enjoy engaging children in a variety of activities such as park walks, baby and toddler groups, baking, and creative play, while also recognising when a child simply needs time to relax and recharge.
I am also happy to help with light household duties if required, to support busy families.
I would like to find a family that enables me to still be around for my own children. My current nanny role has become a part of my family and my children love spending time with her too.
My Experience
I have worked in childcare since leaving school at 16, gaining a wide range of hands-on experience across different settings. I began as a mother’s help before moving into a crèche and then a nursery environment, where I achieved my NVQ Level 2 in Childcare. I went on to work in several nurseries, building a strong foundation in early years development and care.
I later moved into nannying, where I cared for 8-month-old twins, followed by a position looking after an 18-month-old boy for two years. These roles allowed me to provide more personalised, one-to-one care and develop close, trusting relationships with both children and their families.
During my pregnancy, I completed my childminding qualification. While I chose not to pursue childminding long-term, I focused on raising my own children before continuing my professional development by gaining a Teaching Assistant qualification. I then spent eight years working in a primary school, supporting children across a range of ages and abilities.
More recently, I joined the police force as an officer, where I developed valuable skills including communication, problem-solving, safeguarding awareness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure in a wide variety of situations. Although I enjoyed this role, it did not align with my family commitments.
I currently work part-time as a nanny for a lovely family, caring for their daughter, whom I have looked after since she was 18 months old. This ongoing role reflects my ability to build long-term, trusting relationships and provide consistent, high-quality care.
Alongside this, I have been running my own part-time food kiosk business. This has further strengthened my customer service skills, organisation, and ability to create a positive and welcoming experience for others.
