Nanny in Royal: Greenwich (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
** Looking for two full days of nanny work on Monday's and Tuesday's. Please get in touch if that works with your schedule :) **
My name is Issie, I am 36 years old, and I live in Charlton/Blackheath. I am a full-time HCPC-accredited Art Psychotherapist working within CAMHS, where I have been supporting children and young people for over two and a half years. Throughout my professional career, I have worked closely with families and within multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams, developing a strong understanding of children’s emotional, developmental, and relational needs across a range of settings.
My role has deepened my understanding of child development, emotional wellbeing, attachment, and the importance of creating safe, nurturing relationships in which children can thrive. Working collaboratively with parents, carers, schools, social workers, and other professionals has strengthened my communication skills and my ability to provide thoughtful, consistent, and compassionate support tailored to each child and family.
I am now looking to reduce my working days in order to dedicate more time to contributing to Art Psychotherapy research and publications, while also returning to more hands-on, relational work caring for babies, toddlers, and children. I find great joy in supporting children’s emotional and creative development, encouraging their curiosity, imagination, confidence, and sense of self through play, communication, and consistent care.
I am a warm, calm, empathetic, and creative person who values building trusting relationships with both children and families. I believe strongly in respecting children’s boundaries and individuality, while creating an environment in which they feel safe, understood, and free to express themselves. My background in psychotherapy allows me to bring patience, emotional attunement, and sensitivity into my work, alongside a playful and imaginative approach that helps children feel genuinely seen and engaged.
My Experience
I have several years of experience caring for babies and children ranging from infancy through to early adolescence, including children with SEN and additional needs. I previously worked closely with one family for almost six years, building a strong and lasting relationship with both the children and their parents.
I cared for babies and toddlers through important early developmental stages, supporting routines, emotional regulation, potty training, creative play, and social development. My responsibilities included preparing healthy meals, organising stimulating activities and outings, supporting homework, school pick-ups, bedtime routines, and helping to maintain calm and nurturing home environments.
I particularly enjoyed incorporating creativity into childcare through arts and crafts, storytelling, imaginative play, music, outdoor activities, and visits to parks, museums, and soft play centres. I aimed to create environments where children felt emotionally secure, engaged, respected, and encouraged in their independence and self-expression.
I also gained experience supporting neurodiverse children and children with additional needs, including dyspraxia, autism, behavioural challenges, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities. These experiences strengthened my patience, adaptability, and understanding of different developmental and emotional needs.
Educational and SEN Experience
- Alongside nannying, I gained extensive experience working with children and young people in educational, therapeutic, and SEN settings.
- I completed a year-long placement at Kate Greenaway Nursery School in Islington, where I provided Art Therapy for children under five, including children with autism, learning disabilities, and additional needs. This experience strengthened my understanding of early childhood development, attachment, and communication through play and creativity.
- I also worked as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, supporting autistic children and children with behavioural, emotional, and physical support needs within school settings.
- I later continued temporary supply TA work across primary and secondary schools, supporting children with a wide range of learning and emotional needs.
- I also worked part-time as an Early Years Practitioner at a children’s centre in Islington, caring for babies and supporting their developmental and emotional needs in a nurturing environment.
