About Me
Hi, I’m Iva. I work in social media and also as a language interpreter, and I’m currently looking to do some nannying or babysitting alongside that.
I have extensive experience working with children of different ages. I’ve run an after-school club for mixed age groups and have been caring for toddlers, babies, and school-aged children on a part-time basis since my teenage years. I bring a calm, relaxed approach when working with children, while also being responsible, energetic, and fully engaged.
I would describe myself as creative, fun, active, and respectful. I used to work as a Support Worker with young adults with a range of mental health needs, which has strengthened my patience, ability to stay calm under pressure, and confidence in handling unexpected situations. I am First Aid trained, and I have also completed additional training in areas such as communication, autism awareness, and medication management. I am flexible and adaptable to different family needs and routines.
Outside of work, I enjoy walking, pilates, swimming, gardening, reading, baking, and children’s illustration books (I never quite outgrew them!). I also love visiting the beach, museums, galleries, and trying new food. I’m currently learning Spanish and would be happy to introduce it to children in a fun and informal way if that’s something your family is interested in.
My Experience
I have previously worked as a Support Worker for two and a half years, during which I worked with young adults with various mental health conditions. This job taught me a great deal about patience, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and how to cope with unexpected situations.
My other relevant experience includes running an after-school club for children of various ages, as well as looking after toddlers, babies, and school-aged children on a part-time basis. I have been working as a nanny for several years and have always been confident and comfortable working with children.
I am First Aid trained, and in my role as a Support Worker, I completed various additional training courses (such as Communication, Autism awareness, and Medication Management, etc.) provided by Brighton & Hove Council.
