About Me
Hi, My name is Sharon. I am an Ofsted registered childminder currently with summer holiday vacancies for children of 5 years & over.
I have been Childminding since 2012 following a long Nursing career. I live with my partner of 23 years and our 2 dogs, 3 cats on Thorne Road. I have one daughter and 2 grown up grandchildren. I have lived in Doncaster for 24 years and in my semi detached house for 20 years.
I consider myself to be a caring, amiable & approachable person with a good sense of humour, bags of patience, an honest disposition, trustworthy, extremely reliable with a well honed sense of fairness.
Most of the children that have come through my setting have been long term. I have had the privilege of watching them grow into well adjusted, caring individuals ready for Secondary school. My time with them is best described as that of an extended family member ie grandmother.
We learn, play, laugh together while learning all the while.
Each child will be supported as an individual and given loving care & encouragement to achieve their best.
I have a dedicated playroom housing several activities such as board games, crafting, reading, colouring and drawing, where we just relax together plus an enclosed front & back garden.
All my resources will be rotated to ensure your child/ren's interest and I will buy new resources to help with their development.
I am lucky enough to be well situated on a main Doncaster road with 3 parks close by and on a main bus route.
My Experience
An ex-Nurse I have worked for 30+ years in the Social Care Sector. My positions have included working with MS patients, the elderly & palliative care in a Hospice setting, Vulnerable children & adults with learning disabilities in both day centre and residential settings.
I was a foster parent for Somerset County Council.
I have been inspected by Ofsted and received two ‘Good’ gradings consecutively.
My Qualifications
Ex Nurse (Was trained as SRN in 1975)
NVQ levels 2 & 3 in Social Care
NCFE Level 2 Safe Handling of Medicines
Diversity & Equality Level 2
Paediatric First Aid & Epipen training Level 3
Food & Hygiene Certificate to Catering level
My Availability
My core hours are 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday with a 2 week shutdown at Christmas.
I take 4 weeks holiday a year.
My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
After school sessions are 3-6pm for £20
Day rates are based on my rate per hour x amount of hours needed up to 9 hours. I do not charge for consumables.
My Local Schools
