About Me
We are a fun, outgoing family, with two girls aged 14 and 12 years old and a boy aged 10. The youngest children are currently home schooling but our eldest daughter is quite unwell at this time and is receiving care but she will be present in the home also. It will require some general oversight but no medical needs - she can be somewhat self sufficient and will most likely stay in her room, full info can be provided at your request.
We love Bath, having lived here for 15 years but do love to travel, when the opportunity arises. My husband works abroad part time which takes him to Europe and Asia, but is mainly based from home.
We have a great sense of humour and hope to find someone who can work with the changing needs of the family - but mainly having fun in our absence is most important! It will be predominantly ad-hoc evening sitting but, sometimes daytime or overnight, when we get the opportunity to go away on our own.
Our nationality is mixed (Celtic-English/Thai/American). I love to read, write, do yoga and see friends and my husband, Jay, is a musician at heart, with a passion for guitars.
We have a mini wire dachshund called Bazil, who can be nervous and bark alot at first but does give so much love, once trust has been established.
My Requirements
Mainly sitting in the evenings or if we go away overnight and this may include any of the following; homework, engaging in play/creativity activities, PS5, outdoor time, preparing meals and nighttime, ensuring they shower, settling into bed, preparing for the next day, some light Housekeeping (dishes in the dishwasher etc).
You must be a non smoker, sensible drinker, full clean driving license and ideally have your own car. Extensive experience of working with children under 16. Being highly responsible you would be able to provide excellent references and a current DBS check.
Being an outgoing family, we need someone who has lots of energy and motivation to entertain and educate the children but you will also be someone who takes a calm, loving and sensitive approach, giving them every opportunity to grow and flourish as individuals, building trust and security in you. We never tolerate aggressive or violent behaviour but instead encourge the use of words to express emotions where possible but...occasionally children do need to let off steam, which is when your patience and maturity to handle the situation is paramount- especially when they want to express themselves at the same time!
We look forward to hearing from you, do message me asap to discuss.
Many thanks!!

Jana came to us on a part time casual basis at first in December 2015, when my children were 2, 4 and my third child was due imminently. As my husband works abroad part time, I knew I needed help I could absolutely rely on, someone who could take charge, use their initiative and be 100% trustworthy from day one. When Jana cooked me a healthy snack, whilst entertaining the children and tidying my house, just days after my son was born, without any prompting, I knew we had found the ONE! She proceeded to very quickly became part of the family and stayed with us until February this year, when she went on maternity leave.
Always exuding an aura of positivity, love and kindness, the children adore/d her. She has an ability to be creative and fun, catering to the individual child's personality, whilst gently progressing their educational development - I was in awe of her skills! Days with us could include, preparing breakfast, prepping for and attending the school run, baby playgroups, nap times, light housekeeping as baby slept, swimming, baking, outdoor advenuture, play dates at friends, crafting, school work, music, reading, role play, bath and bedtime etc.
Being highly sociable, Jana made a lot of effort to familiarise herself with our children's lives, friends and families, whose parents would often comment on how lucky we were to have her in our family. Her attentiveness and eye for detail enabled me to relax, knowing all would be taken care of.
I have certainly learnt alot from Jana's wealth of experience and qualifications, she was able to balance the needs of family and home life with equal measure, using her initiative to plan ahead, taking the pressure off me, whilst ensuring the children's needs always came first. As my husband and I could be around at times, this could deter some people, however, she was always open to any suggestions and happy to work with me as a team when we needed and 100% reliable, only taking sickness on the very rare occasion.
There is so much more I could write but if you would like more specific information please do call Lyndsay 07904372388.
We were all very sad to see her leave but as my older two children are at school and my youngest is about to start pre-school, the role is no longer suitable for her but we are delighted she is now a mother herself, to the very gorgeous and happy baby Lara and I know she will become an absolute valued member to her next, very lucky family!
