About Me
My name is Paula Button (Willoughbee Childminding) and I have been an Ofsted registered Childminder since 2008. I live with my husband and our two sons born in 2007 and 2009. I was thrilled to receive an outstanding grading in all 3 of my inspections in 2009, 2016 and 2019!
We are originally from South Africa, but have been living in the UK since 2003.
My husband is an IT Server Specialist with the NHS and I was a primary school teacher and Remedial Therapist until my eldest son was born.
We have two sons, two little shih tzu's and a very friendly cat :)
My Experience
I am a qualified Primary School teacher and taught nursery, KS1 and KS2 until my eldest son was born in 2007. I also hold an additional Advance Certificate in SEN. Childminding seemed to be the logical choice when I decided not to return to teaching so that I could be with my son, as it combined my love for teaching and caring for children and met the needs of my family.
I was extremely pleased to be graded as "outstanding" by Ofsted during all 3 of my inspections and I aim to continue to provide quality childcare by offering a child-centred approach in a home setting that enables the child to feel happy, comfortable and secure whilst fulfilling their potential. I will provide a warm, safe, friendly, home environment with a family atmosphere in which children feel valued, can play, learn and develop.
Each child will have the opportunity to have experiences and take part in activities which will help them learn new things and develop new skills. Each child will be treated as an individual, taking into account specific characteristics, abilities and needs.
Children will receive a lot of individual attention whilst enjoying interaction with others both in and outside of my setting. I appreciate that parents are the most important people in a child’s life and therefore consult with parents on all aspects of their child’s care.
