About Me

Hi, I am looking for a nanny position that is fairly local to long Eaton.
I am looking to start after September 2026 but don't mind starting after that.
I have previously been registered with Ofsted as a childminder in my own home for 20 years but I have just given up my childminding registration. I will register again as a nanny when I find a suitable position so you can use vouchers to pay or claim for childcare if on universal credit. Unfortunately you can't claim the 15 or 30 free hours for nannies yet.
I was also a foster carer for children with complex needs for two years so I have experience of looking after children with different needs.
I have had two children of my own that are now 23 and 25.
I am happy to do house keeping duties.
I am on the DBS update system.
At the moment I am a learning support advisor at a college.
I also work as a health care assistant at Nottingham city and Queens hospitals. I do this in the school holidays.
I love children and would plan fun activities and we would get out and about. Whilst being a childminder I would have 5/ 6 children at a time so I don't mind caring for big families with pets. I am 53 and looking to care for children in their own home.
I could do the odd weekend day but days mostly need to be week days.
I am looking for full or min of 30 hours. School wrap around care would not be enough hours for me. I don't mind if house keeping/animal care makes up the majority of the hours.
Can do occasional evening/overnight as required.
Thank you

My two children aged 3 and 1 have been with Jo for around 8 months now and we are so fortunate we have her. She has been brilliant with the children taking them out regularly to parks, baking and various other activities. My son also suffers with delayed speech, I have been really worried about this but since he's been with Jo he is making massive steps as she introduced communication cards which helped build his confidence and curb the frustration he was experiencing. I feel really lucky to have Jo as our childminder and I don't worry about them whilst in her care they are always happy to go and it's clear to see how much they've enjoyed there time when we collect.

Our 2 year old son goes to Jo 2/3 times a week, and we are very happy to have found her! He does different things each day, including baking, painting and park visits. Jo really has got to know him and this has made handovers during a very clingy period so much easier! Jo has been wonderfully flexible with us and has a lovely family home. I know our little boy enjoys his time at Jo's and couldn't recommend her highly enough!
