About Me
I live in Redcar and have a great deal of experience with children of a wide variety of ages.
I have been an Ofsted registered childminder for 11 years now and have just been graded OUTSTANDING on my last inspection.
We regularly attend a number of playgroups to help the children's social skills flourish in a variety of different environments. I attend activity sessions such as the wacky warehouse, play factory and wold of play, where the children all get to meet up with other child-minded children, and play together creating great longterm friendships.
Being part of a strong childminder network ensures I wont need to let parents down if I become ill, book any holidays or need to attend an appointment, as the children will know the other adults and be happy and confident around them.
I have a 12yr old son and a 10yr old daughter myself. My daughter loves to help out with the children, playing and interacting with them. She enjoys playing games with them and helping them with their development, working on colours and counting are her favourites.
I have 2 sausage dogs, who the children love. I believe its good for the children to learn how we care for animals and also the responsibilities they bring.
I care for children from newborn up to 11yrs, as children usually leave my setting when they go to secondary school.
My Experience
I worked alongside my mum gaining valuable experience with children aged 3 months - 10 years. Ive seen a great benefit from working together as children dont need to be taken along to school runs in the rain and cold and I believe having two people gives the children more personal one to one time and the offer of cuddles is there all day long if needed even if one person is busy.
I attend church playgroups throughout the week as well as going to the beach, woods and parks on a regular basis to give children the chance to have a good run around and burn off energy. I have a wide range of toys for all age groups ranging from babies upwards.
My Qualifications
I have attended the EYFS training so I am up to date with all the relevant information and protocol there is.
I am regularly updating my training with Webinars and various other courses to help me improve my knowledge and be able to give the children the best opportunities whilst iny care.
I have a recent first aid training certificate which allows me to be up to date with any changes that have occurred in the last year.
I have a full clean driving license. I have been driving for 15 years without any accidents.
My Availability
Due to having my own children I am available to work 5 days a week, attending different play sessions all week long.
I work 7am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday
I am happy to discuss working out of these hours to meet parents needs due to previously working shifts myself.
I collect from Wheatlands Primary School and Zetland Primary School nurseries where I have current minded children. I may collect/drop off from other schools nearby, for nursery runs.
Under special circumstances/situations I will also collect and drop off from your home.
