About Me

I live in Redcar and provide a warm, nurturing, and child-centred environment where every child is valued as an individual. With extensive experience caring for children of all ages, I tailor activities and experiences to each child's interests, stage of development, and unique personality, ensuring they feel safe, happy, and confident to explore and learn.
I have been an Ofsted-registered childminder for 12 years and was delighted to receive an OUTSTANDING grading at my most recent inspection. My approach is child-led, allowing children to learn through play, curiosity, and meaningful experiences that reflect their own interests and choices.
To support children's social, emotional, and communication development, we regularly attend a variety of local playgroups, activity sessions, and soft play venues. These experiences give children opportunities to build confidence, develop friendships, and learn alongside others in different environments. Many of the children I care for form lasting friendships through these activities and enjoy meeting up with their childminding friends each week.
As part of a strong and supportive childminding network, I am able to offer continuity of care when needed. Should I become unwell, need to attend an appointment, or take annual leave, children are already familiar with the other childminders and adults within the network, helping them to feel secure, comfortable, and confident during any temporary changes.
I am also a mum to a 13-year-old son and an 11-year-old daughter. My daughter enjoys spending time with the children, joining in their play and supporting their learning through fun activities, games, counting, colour recognition, and creative experiences.
We also have two friendly sausage dogs who are much loved by the children. Having pets provides valuable opportunities for children to learn about kindness, empathy, responsibility, and how to care for animals in a safe and respectful way.
I care for children from newborn through to 11 years old, with many families choosing to stay with my setting until their child moves on to secondary school. My aim is to provide a home-from-home environment where children feel listened to, supported, and encouraged to develop at their own pace while having fun and creating happy memories.

My Experience

I worked alongside my mum, gaining valuable experience caring for children aged 3 months to 10 years. I have seen many benefits of working together, as it means children do not need to be taken on school runs in poor weather, and having two adults available allows for more individual attention and one-to-one interaction. It also ensures that comfort, reassurance, and cuddles are always available whenever needed, even when one of us is occupied with another child.
Throughout the week, I attend church playgroups and regularly visit the beach, woods, and local parks, giving children plenty of opportunities to explore, stay active, and enjoy the outdoors. I provide a wide range of toys and resources suitable for all ages, from babies through to older children, helping to support their development, learning, and enjoyment through play.

My Qualifications

I have completed EYFS training and keep my knowledge up to date with current guidance, requirements, and best practice.
I regularly participate in webinars, training courses, and professional development opportunities to continually enhance my skills and knowledge, ensuring I can provide the best possible care and learning experiences for the children in my setting.
I hold a current Paediatric First Aid certificate and regularly refresh my training to stay informed of any updates or changes to first aid procedures.
I have held a full, clean driving licence for 16 years and have maintained a safe driving record with no accidents.

My Availability

As a parent myself, I am available to provide childcare five days a week and regularly attend a variety of playgroups and activities throughout the week to support children's learning, development, and social skills.

My standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:30pm.

I understand that many families have varying work commitments, having previously worked shifts myself, so I am happy to discuss flexible arrangements outside of these hours where possible to meet parents' needs.

I currently offer school and nursery collections from Wheatlands Primary School, St Benedict's Primary School, and Zetland Primary School. I may also be able to accommodate collections and drop-offs at other nearby schools and nurseries.

In exceptional circumstances, I can also provide collection and drop-off services directly to and from your home.

My Fees

  • Childminding from £5.00 per hour

I accept all Government-funded childcare entitlements, including both the 15-hour and 30-hour funding schemes.
I also accept Universal Credit childcare support and the Government's Tax-Free Childcare scheme.
There are no hidden or additional charges within my setting. Your funded hours will always be used first, and only once these have been fully utilised will any additional hours be charged at £5 per hour.
I do not charge extra for outings and activities such as playgroups, soft play sessions, or similar experiences, as I believe these opportunities should be available to all children in my care.
