About Me

I am looking to start a new full/part time position starting February 2023.
I'm 33 and living in Winchcombe. I have two of my own horses and several rescue ponies. The rescues I share with my mother and often use the smallest pony Stella to teach my four year old niece to ride. I have a 14 year old spaniel. I spent a lot of time around farm animals whilst growing up so all in all, I'm very animal friendly and outdoorsy.
I’m on the lookout for my next position to start from February 23’. Ideally local to Winchcombe/Cotswolds or Cheltenham. I have been a Nanny for over 10 years and have had sole charge of newborns to teenagers. Ideally I am looking for a full time position though I am happy to look at my options in regards to a shared nanny position or part time. I have had a really lovely time helping different families over the past two years.

My Experience

I started my working career as a professional singer. I had worked as a carer and a cleaner for a short spell along the way but by 19 I was working all over the country with musicians, I absolutely loved this short time in my life and have always intended to 'get back to it!'. I had an unfortunate injury in my throat which halted the singing temporarily. I was fortunate enough to find a local cleaning job where I intended to stay whilst I rested the voice. Through the cleaning I had heard of a local family who needed an equestrian Nanny. It wasn't a career I'd ever considered but I felt up to it! I have worked as a Nanny/Mothers help for over 10 years with many different families. On a couple of occasions I have committed to long term and full time positions but due lockdown in 2020 I have been working more temporary, flexible positions - this has worked really well for me but I am more than happy to commit to a permanent position if the situation suits everyone.
I pride myself on being very flexible and adaptable. I have helped so many different families in varying situations and pride myself in adapting to each families unique flow. I'm very calm under pressure and keep a clear head when it comes to problem solving. I take on all my duties with the safety, well being and comfort of the child above all else.
I have had full charge of newborns to teenagers and comfortably care for three - four will require access to lots of chocolate biscuits.

I'm very horsey and outdoorsy. I'm a healthy role model - always promoting good healthy eating. I love to cook. I love getting outside as much as possible with children but also know when it’s time to create calm, read a book and build a blanket den.
I love to craft and paint, I'm always scrolling pinterest for fun art projects.

I started my Nanny journey in January 2012 caring for two young girls who's mother was an equine vet. The girls had a Pony and i exercised mum's horse twice a week whilst the girls were at nursery and school. This lasted for two years which naturally lead to other equestrian families.
I then Nanny shared two families for 6 months both of which had ponies.
The following role was a temporary job caring for only one child for 6 months who's parents were polo players spending 6 months in the UK and 6 months in New Zealand.
I then worked for my brother Nannying his newborn son and five year old daughter for 8 months.
My next role was caring for three children who's parents were equine vets living on site at their equine hospital. All three children had their own ponies. I cared for the youngest child during the day and collected the other two from school. I often got involved with equestrian events, pony club and riding after school.
This takes me to late 2017 where I took a break from Nannying and decided to help out at my local fire station where I trained to be an on call firefighter. As amazing as this career change was - It demanded a lot of time waiting for the pager to sound unable to leave my local area and struggling to find suitable work alongside that allowed me to bolt out when the pager alarmed! It was a tough decision after all the arduous training but I was very lucky to be able to fall back into the Nannying so readily
I returned to my original Nanny position part time which involved mainly after school care whilst assisting the girls to ride after school whilst mum worked.
I found a more longer term position which was part time working for a single mum who had two young boys. Mum worked as a wedding organizer. They had horses and ponies and I would often take the boys out riding. Unfortunately only 6 months in to this role was when lockdown first commenced. I was no longer needed for this role as mum had no work. Fortunately for me - my family own a fruit and veg shop in winchcombe and I was very quickly snapped to help step up and deliver to the vulnerable. I continued to work in the shop until I found a local Nanny position needing some short term assistance.
I worked for the family of four soon to be five from the 1st January 2021 for three months. I helped with the two older children whilst mum recovered from her C section. Mum's brother was moving from oxford to blockley and they needed a Nanny to help them settle in as an alternative to a nursery. The eldest child started school in September. I’ve since been working for a few different families mainly ad-hoc but I would prefer to start a more permanent position in the new year.
I would love to get rooted into something more long term again but I'm also very happy if I find a temporary position.
