About Me
Hello , My name is Evelyn Jack and I have been a registered childminder since March 1998. I take enormous pride in my job and I am committed to providing a valuable service ! From April 2016 I have decided to offer my service to nursery/school children only . When this naturally happened a few years back , I found that the children were very happy with this enviroment . Having no younger children to care for leaves much more time for fun activities that would be very difficult to do with young ones whom take up a lot of time ! I provide wrap around childcare for nursery & school children . We walk to and from nursery/school and I provide meals and snacks at no extra cost. I have a fully enclosed garden dedicated to play with a large enclosed trampoline , chute , a shed full of outdoor toys , picnic table, table tennis , scooters , gymnastic bar , balance beam , waterwall, bats, balls, roller skates, outdoor games, pavement chalks etc. Inside I have a purpose built playroom full of toys, books , craft , keyboard & other musical instruments, games , jigsaws, puzzles, T.V. , games table, games console etc. for all ages and tastes. The children also use the living room where we have a larger T.V and sky, where we play Wii sports etc. The living room has lots of leg room to move about (no toys etc. on floor). We do baking and the kids are always welcome to help prepare meals and snacks if they wish. We often have joint craft projects e.g. I painted a Christmas tree on a large piece of cardboard , cut it out and stuck it on the wall in the playroom, then leading up to Christmas the children all made decorations for it , baubles , stars, snowflakes, presents etc. It looked amazing and more importantly the kids loved it !!!. We like to display lots of our creations around the house and some even make it home to parents and grandparents....if you're lucky.! Right next to the playroom there is a large downstairs toilet and upstairs there is another toilet, you can never have too many toilets with a house full kids!!
I have child minded for so many years because I genuinely enjoy it and I aim to provide a home from home environment , I treat each child as an individual, encourage positive behaviour and a healthy lifestyle .
I believe and have been told I am warm , friendly and approachable both with the children and parents alike. My aim is for parents/carers to leave their children, in my care, confident they are safe , happy and well cared for ! I take and send photos of the children to parents at least once a week , allowing parents to feel part of their childrens day and giving them the option to keep these photos as a keepsake of their time at mine and the friends they have made . I take enormous pride in my job as a child minder and provide the service I would wish for , for my sons and myself when they were young .Please feel free to call me if you have any questions (regarding settling in visits , concerns , special needs etc.) and maybe arrange a wee visit if you are interested ( no obligation). Anything I ever discuss with child minding parents/carers is completely confidential !
My Experience
I have nearly 25 years experience working as a childminder and have learnt an enormous amount in that time , which I believe is invaluable !! I am a mum of two grow up sons & I have worked with all ages , abilities, personalities and children with special needs. I take pride in having patience and empathy.
My Qualifications
I have several cetificates relating to childcare and keep my paediatric first aid up to date . I also have certificates in food hygiene, child protection and infection control. I have been awarded a certificate of excellence this year by childcare.co.uk based on an average 5 star rating by 10 parents I’ve childminded for.
My Availability
I am available from 7-9 & 3-6 on school days. I work all in-service day but I no longer work in school holidays . If you only require termtime this is financially beneficial , as most childminders would charge a retainer to keep the space over the holidays .

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
I charge £5.00 per hour.. However very few people provide food as part of their service anymore, I provide a balanced diet of all meals and snacks for the children in my care . This is included in my hourly fee I believe this is beneficial for the children and the parents respectively .

Evelyn is amazing with the children! She looked after my son from 3 years old and he had such fun going to the beach, park, mums and tots, play centres and so many more places. He got to do baking, painting and things that most mums do with their kids, so in effect it was like a home from home for him. I never had any concerns as I knew he was being very well looked after, her house was extremely child friendly with many activities and games to keep him occupied. Evelyn does so much with the kids, I honestly think she deserves a gold medal, they are always out and about exploring and having adventures. I am truly grateful to Evelyn for everything she did for my son and I would definitely recommend to anyone. Xxx

I have been friends with Evelyn for many years and I spend time with her regularly at her home and on days out with her, her family and her childminding kids.
She is a very caring person, consciousness and is a good friend. She has looked after my kids at weekends, week days and overnight and they always come home having had lots of fun and feeling valued as she boosts their self esteem with her witty personality and fun games.
She has good values and a genuine interest in her little people's welfare and health by keeping them active, taking them outdoors and giving them quality snacks. She is fair and treats all the kids on an even playing field and has no favourites.
Evelyn has a good routine, structure and boundaries which kids need to feel safe.
Evelyn is also well known in Cairneyhill to have looked after other children successfully that have failed with other childcare providers as she caters for the child's individual needs and nurtures them with her patient and caring nature and structured timetable making the child feel valued, included and responsible.
She is very reliable and has only taken time of 3 times in 18 yrs!
I have read the reviews on here and apart from one I believe are a true reflection of her professionalism and kindness. If I had another child that needed looked after I would let her look after them in a heartbeat as she does such a good job.

My some currently goes to Evelyn and has done for 8 months now. I feel confident in leaving him there as the level of service is excellent. My son runs in happy and tells me wonderful stories about his time with Evelyn and her family. I would highly recommend Evelyn as a childminder.

My boys have been going to Evelyns for six months now and both enjoy being there. She is great with the kids and very hands on. She has a very child friendly home with a variety of toys, games, arts and crafts etc. I only no longer use Evelyn as I no longer work and therefore don't require childcare anymore.

Evelyn used to childmind my children for a couple of years. She provides good food & plenty activities. My children loved to go to Evelyn's. I would use her again in a heartbeat. I only no longer use as changed jobs & didn't require childcare anymore.
