Suspicious payment option/solution
I was very pleased to sign an agreement with this person; however, five days before the start of the half-term break, it turned out she was having persistent issues with her bank—problems she claimed she didn't have time to resolve. As a result, neither my Monzo nor my Metro Bank account would accept the payment details she provided. I offered several alternatives, such as using a payment link where she could enter her details by herself or using PayPal. I even asked her to share her bank transfer details directly from her banking app to ensure everything was correct. She insisted that she was too busy, claimed the details she had provided were correct—adding that "others manage to pay just fine"—and then demanded that I bring cash instead. The whole situation felt wrong, so I refused this method of payment. Consequently, I was forced to cancel the contract, leaving me without childcare and with no other options, given how late it was. I can’t help but wonder if this was a deliberate move to back out of the agreement—it’s just a shame it happened at the very last minute.
