About Me
? Full-Time Childcare Spaces Currently Available ?
Ofsted Registered Childminder | Consistently Rated GOOD | 20+ Years’ Experience
Hello, I’m Trina, an experienced Ofsted-registered childminder providing professional, reliable childcare within a warm, calm and nurturing home-from-home environment.
I am conveniently located on the hospital side of Vicarage Road in Watford, within easy reach of Watford General Hospital and local schools, with parking directly outside for easy drop-offs and collections.
I currently have full-time childcare spaces available. Please feel free to message me for my current rates and availability, or to arrange an informal visit to meet me and have a look around the setting.
? A caring, individual approach
I understand that choosing childcare is a big decision and that starting a new childcare setting can be an important transition for both children and their parents.
With over 20 years’ professional childcare experience, I take a calm, reassuring and individual approach, giving every child the time and support they need to settle and feel safe, secure, valued and happy in my care.
I work closely with parents to provide consistency between home and my setting, taking time to understand each child’s individual personality, routine and needs. This can include sleep and nap routines, weaning and dietary requirements, allergies, toilet training, emotional development and developmental milestones.
My aim is to provide a setting where children receive the individual care and attention they need while being encouraged to develop their confidence, independence, communication and social skills and to flourish at their own pace.
Parents have particularly valued my warm, calm and nurturing approach, and I want every child in my care to feel comfortable, confident and happy to return each day.
? Experience, qualifications & peace of mind
I have consistently achieved a GOOD Ofsted rating, with my most recent inspection in November 2022, and I continue to undertake professional training to ensure my knowledge, policies and childcare practices remain up to date.
My qualifications and training include:
• NVQ Level 3 in Early Years
• Current Paediatric First Aid training
• Safeguarding and Child Protection training
• Full DBS clearance
• Ongoing professional training and development
• Experience supporting children with allergies and individual dietary requirements
I predominantly care for babies, toddlers and preschool-aged children, although I can also provide care for school-aged children.
Excellent references from previous and current families are available.
? Learning through experiences, play & exploration
I believe some of the most valuable learning happens when children are able to play, explore, experience new things and interact with the world around them.
Our days are varied, and activities and outings are chosen according to the children’s ages, interests and stages of development.
These can include:
? Parks and outdoor adventures
? Hartbeeps and children’s groups
? Creative play sessions
? Farms and animal visits
? National Trust and heritage days out
? Indoor play centres
? Leisure centre activities
? Regular opportunities to meet and socialise with other children
As well as being fun, these experiences encourage children to develop their confidence, communication, physical abilities, independence, curiosity and social skills.
? Plenty to explore at home too
Not every adventure requires a day out!
At home, children have access to a wide variety of age-appropriate toys, books, games and creative activities.
Depending on their interests and developmental stage, our days can include:
? Painting, drawing and arts & crafts
? Baking and simple food activities
? Singing, dancing and musical instruments
? Dressing up and imaginative play
? Books, stories and quiet time
? Puzzles and age-appropriate games
?? Fun learning and developmental activities
Activities are adapted around each child’s age, interests, abilities and stage of development, allowing children to learn naturally through play rather than expecting every child to do the same thing.
? Our dedicated garden play cabin & outdoor space
One of the special features of my setting is our large outdoor log cabin, which has been transformed into a dedicated children’s play area.
With soft flooring and plenty of space to play, it allows children to enjoy the benefits of our garden and outdoor environment throughout much more of the year – even when the British weather isn’t cooperating!
The cabin opens onto our secure, private and fully fenced garden, where children have access to a wide range of outdoor activities including:
? Slides
? Play house
? Bikes and scooters
? Play kitchen
? Mud kitchen and messy play
?? Sand play
? Water play
? Balls and outdoor toys
? Space for imaginative and exploratory play
Having this dedicated space gives children the freedom to move, explore, create and get messy in a safe environment, while supporting their physical development, imagination and confidence.
? A place where children can feel at home
Above all, I want my setting to be somewhere children genuinely enjoy coming to.
Every child has their own personality, routine and individual needs, and I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to childcare. I work in partnership with parents to provide consistency, reassurance and support as their child grows and develops.
My goal is simple: to provide high-quality, dependable childcare in a safe, happy and nurturing environment, where children can learn, play, build friendships, develop their confidence and, most importantly, enjoy being children.

My daughter absolutely adores Trina and vice versa. In fact, she said Trina's name before she even said "Mummy" — which says everything about the special bond they have built together!
My daughter excitedly chants Trina's name all the way there in the car, and seeing how happy she is to arrive gives me complete peace of mind. I trust Trina implicitly with my daughter, which is one of the greatest gifts a parent can have.
She is incredibly warm, caring, and nurturing, and has created a genuine home-from-home environment where the children feel safe, loved, and valued. Her house is like a treasure chest of toys, games, and activities, both indoors and outside and the children have endless opportunities to learn, explore, and have fun, as well as going out.
It's clear that Trina puts her heart into what she does, and the children absolutely thrive in her care. We feel incredibly lucky to have found her and couldn't recommend her more highly.
She is always incredibly accommodating and understanding when family life throws the unexpected our way. Her flexibility and willingness to help wherever possible have made such a difference to us and taken so much stress out of juggling work and childcare.
Thanks so much Trina!

Not only trina has refused my little one after I let her know he has food allergies, she has even blocked me now! All I said to her was that she should include in her profile that she don’t cater for babies with allergies. This has caused me so much distress because I already worry so much that by baby misses out a lot in life due to his food anllergy and now to even being refused from a childminder. I’m speechless.

Thank you for your feedback.
For clarity, no childcare service was provided and no placement was agreed. At the time of enquiry, I only had full-time spaces available and was unable to accommodate the hours requested.
I would also like to clarify that this decision was not in reference to allergies. I have been a registered childminder for many years and would never refuse a child on that basis. As with all enquiries, I must consider my existing commitments and ensure that my setting remains safe and suitable for all children in my care.
My setting involves established routines and daily off-site activities, including regular visits to a working farm, which also form part of these considerations.
I apologise if this was not communicated in a way that made this clearer at the time. The decision was based solely on availability and suitability of hours and was not personal.
I wish you every success in finding childcare that meets your requirements.
Trina has been looking after my little one since she was just 9 months old, and I truly couldn’t ask for anyone better. From the very beginning, she created a warm, nurturing, and safe environment where my child has absolutely thrived.
One of the things I really appreciate is how consistent and thoughtful her communication is — I receive daily updates, photos, and little stories that make me feel so connected to my child’s day, even when I’m not there. It gives me such peace of mind knowing she’s in such caring hands.
Most importantly, my daughter adores her. It’s clear that she feels happy, loved, and confident in her care. Over time, I’ve watched her grow socially, emotionally, and developmentally in so many ways — and I truly believe so much of that is thanks to the care, encouragement, and attention she receives.
Finding someone you trust with your child is never easy, but I can honestly say she has been a gift to our family.

TRINA has looked after my little one for a couple of months but now she has grown out of age and it's time to move on to the next step wich is nursery. My daughter loved spending time with Trina, she was very happy every day doing different activities, going out in the garden or parks, reading stories, doing playdough, number blocks..etc
Trina is very warm and friendly, her communication with parents is excellent and I enjoy seeing photos of what my daughter have been up to.
I would highly recommend without any hesitation-she's fantastic!

Trina has looked after my little girl for just over 2 years. I that time Trina has helped her flourish helping her learn numbers, letters and grow her vocabulary. Trina takes the children out each day whether it be to the farm, park, scooter park or even just playing in the garden the children are always outside.
Trina has been very patient with my daughters fussy eating and has helped her try more foods. She supported her brilliantly through her natural development, helping with her walking, potty training and building her confidence so she can go on to preschool.
Trina is an all round star and I know my little girl will miss her emensely.

My daughter has been with Trina for 2 years and has absolutely loved going there. Trina takes the children out everyday and even to the farm and sports days which my daughter has really enjoyed! She has even built a log cabin in her garden for the children to play in. Trina helps the children with their fine motor skills and works with them individually to write letters and trace things which will prepare them for school. Trina has been extremely accommodating with my early starts and sometimes late finishes with work which has made being a single parent less stressful. Trina is an overall lovely person and is so great with the children! I would recommend her to anyone and everyone! My daughter will really miss her when she goes to school!

I am soo lucky to have found such a caring and kind person to look after both my young children. I was let down by a previous childminder and Trina was just amazing in accommodating my childminding needs.
I was nervous about leaving my young baby, but the way Trina responded with the children in her care and how happy they were, I knew I had found the perfect match.
Trina has looked after my young baby since she was 5 weeks old. My daughter has on going health issues and Trina has supported me through this and has even helped with my daughter feeding difficulties she was having.
Trina now looks after both my children, my daughter who is now 9 months old and my son who is now 3. Both my children love going to her home and my son does not want to leave which is a good sign. He enjoys all the education games and activities Trina provides for the children in her home.
Trina is one in a million and the only childminder I would have look after my children. I am so happy to have found her.

We are so glad we found Trina, the positive reviews on this site are to be believed. We were in the process of moving house when we contacted Trina, and she was very understanding with the uncertainties that come along with moving to a new area.
Our little girl was 13 months when she started, and she had the typical separation anxiety at the beginning along with two molars cutting through at once. Trina did a marvellous job of settling in our child and it is safe to say she loves going now! The children do lots of different activities during the day, and our daughter is always clean, well fed and happy when we pick her up. We were pleased that Trina was open to using reusable nappies and wipes and fitted them perfectly from the start!
We will really miss you Trina, thank you for everything!

Trina had been taking care of our two sons for the past 6 years. We were lucky to find her when our oldest son was 1 and we never looked back. When we had our youngest, Trina was an obvious choice.
She is so warm, smiley and always with a positive attitude, children warm to her really fast. She has an extensive knowledge of child development and continues to expand on this during her evening classes and webinars. I admire her energy and positivity.
We have always felt that she took time to get to know our boys personally, as individuals and adapted her days to ensure they settle in well. No need to say that it took no time at all for them to feel safe there, us too.
She follows EYFS when planning activities and ensures that they are fun and exciting, yet educational. She takes children out for day trips and cooks healthy meals. Her garden is an outdoor heaven, our son still talks about the bouncy castle she once hired for the children.
Both of our sons are now in the school settings but she is still very flexible with ad hoc childcare, babysitting and weekends. During the lockdown, she was our rock. She followed all government guidance but somehow managed to make it stress free for us and children.
She communicates promptly any feedback or concerns and keeps the record of the learning progress for each child. She follows the routine of each child and builds a great rapport with all parents. She is professional but also very friendly and warm. Her positivity and calmness really stand out and I think that is the reason children love her.
We really cannot recommend her highly enough. She is an absolute star.
