We feel incredibly lucky to have had Donna as Emily’s childminder for the past three years. From the very beginning, it was clear how much care, attention, and genuine affection Donna brings to the children she looks after.

What really sets Donna apart is the way she remembers and responds to the little details that make each child feel special. Whether it’s knowing that Emily prefers her sauce on the side or going out of her way to buy her favourite yoghurt, those thoughtful touches mean so much. She even makes personalised water bottles so every child feels part of the family.

Emily has absolutely loved her time with Donna. From rhyme time and playgroups to trips to the park in the “Donna Bus,” every day is filled with fun, laughter, and little in-jokes that make the experience so special. Alongside all of this, Donna has supported Emily’s development brilliantly, helping her build confidence in counting and early literacy, while also nurturing the softer, more important skills like good manners (“good manners, not naughty manners!”), taking turns, and showing consideration for others.

Donna is consistently warm, compassionate, and enthusiastic. In all our time with her, we’ve never seen her anything less than positive and welcoming at drop-off and pick-up. She also has great connections with other childminders, organising play opportunities that widen the children’s social experiences.

Donna and her husband Gary have made us feel like part of their extended family, which makes it all the harder to say goodbye as we relocate. We’ve always felt reassured knowing Emily is in such safe, caring hands. The regular updates throughout the day, with photos and details about what she’s been doing and eating, have been so appreciated.

We will miss Donna hugely and cannot recommend her highly enough to any family looking for a kind, dedicated, and truly exceptional childminder.
