About Me
My partner Jo and I are both registered childminders. I registered as a childminder over 30 years ago. Jo about 6 years ago after over 20 years of nannying for families all over the world.
We enjoy our work very much and provide a nurturing and homely environment for the children that are in our care.
I have 4 children, 32, 31, 28 and 22 years old. I have three grandsons who are 6, 3 and 16 mths.
We have a small dog and 2 cats.
Our typical week comprises of outdoor activities (unless weather is extreme) Cramond, Almondell, Beecraigs to name just a few. Children love a puddle, a stick and a Gruffalo hunt!! Our other age appropriate activities include swimming, craft, board games and soft play is loved by all. We visit parks on a regular basis too.
We enjoy travelling further afield with the children to expand their experiences especially in the school holidays. We have a 7 seater car with a variety of age appropriate car seats.
We also have membership for Edinburgh Zoo, Almond Valley and Historic Scotland which allows us lots of fun days out.
We have a room that is set up solely as a toyroom in our home with an extensive choice of toys and a garden with a variety of toys including the very popular mud kitchen and climbing frame.
We have policies & risk assessments in place according to the Care Inspectorate guidelines. We have references from previous and current parents, available in request.
My Experience
I obtained my NNEB qualification after leaving school but I do feel that having 4 children and 30 years of childminding experience is far more relevant.
Night nanny for parents needing a little extra sleep.
We are both qualified swim teachers so swimming is a big part of the children's and our week.
