Part Time Nanny Job in Winchester
About Me
We are a busy family of five. My husband and I live an approx 20 minute walk from the city centre with our 16 year old daughter who is at King's,14 year old son, also at King's, and 10 year old son at St Peter's. We are joined each Tuesday by another 16 year old girl due to a shared activity with my daughter.
My Requirements
We are looking for someone who can help us next academic year, i.e. from September 2026, on Tuesdays 5pm to 7pm in term-time.
This role has been filled for the last 5 years by students from Winchester University (variously: Events Management, Social Work and Primary Ed courses) and it has fitted in well with lectures etc, but our current wonderful student has finished Uni and starts a new job in September.
We have a 10 year old boy who needs to be collected from St Peter's School at 5pm, transported home to Bereweeke. Then duties are to heat up dinner/cook pasta/serve pudding for 4 children (older children: 14 boy, and two 16 year old girls) then wash up/tidy table before transporting 10 year old to Cubs and then dropping two 16 year olds at Leisure Centre in Bar End for their activity.
As you can imagine from the ages, the older teens very much look after themselves and just need food/transportation! 10 year old is very independent as well.
Own car and clean driving licence essential.
Non smoker essential.
Happy to consider applications from those without any formal childcare qualifications, e.g. students, subject to satisfactory references.
We pay a competitive hourly rate and pay mileage at 0.45p/mile from school to our home, and to any activities.
The most important thing is someone who has a genuine interest in working with children, is flexible with a can do attitude and likes to have fun!

Esther looked after our 2 children after school three days a week up until March 2016 when I started my maternity leave. We were incredibly lucky to find Esther, who did craft activities each day with them, cooked home made healthy meals and was aware of their developmental needs from her experience working in a pre school. She has a great variety of toys too. Esther was also very flexible and helped us out when we needed additional hours. Would wholeheartedly recommend Esther, thank you :-)
