About Me

Hello, my name is Blanka and I am an Ofsted-registered childminder based in Cherry Hinton, Cambridge. Our home is in a quiet, family-friendly area with excellent access to parks and outdoor spaces. I am a non-smoker, fully DBS (formerly CRB) checked, and a member of PACEY (Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years).

I provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn and develop through play. My setting includes a dedicated playroom with a wide range of age-appropriate toys, books, board games, puzzles, construction sets, and creative resources. I encourage creativity through arts and crafts activities and support children’s development across all areas of learning.

The playroom opens onto a spacious, secure garden, which features outdoor play equipment including a slide, sandpit, and seasonal water play. We also enjoy growing our own fruits and vegetables, giving children the opportunity to learn about nature, healthy eating, and cooking as we prepare simple, nutritious meals together.

Outdoor play is an important part of our daily routine. Weather permitting, we regularly visit local parks, nature reserves, and country parks. I encourage children to stay active, explore their surroundings, and enjoy fresh air in all seasons.

I provide freshly prepared, home-cooked meals using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, promoting a healthy and balanced diet. Menus are carefully planned and available to parents on request.

Children also benefit from regular outings to local playgroups, music sessions, messy play activities, childminder groups, and children’s centre events, supporting their social development and confidence.

I am a native Czech speaker and raise my children in a bilingual environment. While English is the main language spoken in my setting, I also understand Slovak, German, Polish, and Russian.

I offer school drop-off and pick-up services to and from the Church of England Primary School on High Street in Cherry Hinton. I hold a full, clean driving licence and have a comfortable, child-friendly vehicle.
