My Summary

My Experience

I have experience being a personal carer for 2 disabled families on the Wirral area.

The first child I helped look after had global developmental delay and was incontinent. I helped the child with personal care regarding changing nappies and getting redressed. He also required supervision regarding playing with his toys and the room he was in as his spacial awareness was very bad.

The second family I helped their children with was a family who had 5 children ranging from ages 4 to 15, 3 who had autism and communication difficulties. These children required constant supervision when playing with toys, board games, art and craft materials and on their wii because of behavioural problems relating to their Autism and because they had to take their medication under supervision also.

I also have 3 years experience of being a teaching assistant/midday supervisory assistant at a variety of schools in merseyside and 2 years as a peer mentor in Bootle.
I am comfortable and happy looking after children at any age and am happy to help out with any tasks the person requires me to do such as laundry, cleaning, making meals.etc.

I look after my 14 month old daughter full time, however I have a good family support network to look after her when I am at work.

I am looking into studying part time courses in September onwards such as first aid, equality awareness, health and safety awareness and COSHH.
