Looking for a 'highly recommended', 'caring', 'reliable' childminder? I am delighted to say that this is how I have been described by parents of children who have used my service.
My name is Cheryl. I am a proud mother of three and run a fun and exciting childminding business for children aged 4 months to 12 years. I am registered by The Care Inspectorate (SCSWIS Scotland) and offer a clean, safe, secure and stimulating environment in which your child can play, learn, develop and grow.
My Experience
As a busy mother of three, I am well aware of the demands and responsibilities involved in caring for children. I have no doubt that the experiences that I have had already bringing up my own children help me in my role as a childminder. There is a large age difference between my eldest and youngest child and I understand how challenging it can be to care for children with varying abilities, needs and interests. I am a fit and active individual with plenty of energy to provide children with a stimulating environment with a wide variety of fun and educational activities.
I have also worked as a playworker in an after school care club and more recently was a member of the committee. My experiences here have given me some understanding of what is involved in providing a good quality care service.
My Qualifications
As part of my pre-registration training I successfully completed a six week induction course in childminding ran by the Dundee Early Years Team and approved by the Care Commission. The course covered a wide range of subjects including child protection, health and safety, child development and behaviour management. During the course of this year I have refreshed my child protection training and obtained my First Aid Certificate for babies and young children. I also make full use of the training workshops provided by the Early Years Team and by Dundee College as they become available covering a variety of areas from child development and special needs to play experiences and nutrition and hygiene. I believe it is vitally important to continue to further my training and refresh my skills in order for me to provide a good quality childcare service.
I was graded a score of 5 (very good) in all areas of my recent childminding inspection. My Care Inpectorate report is available to view.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.00 per hour
I charge competitive fees and offer discounts for siblings and full time care. All meals, snacks and regular activities (e.g. play group fees) are included in my fees.
